Sorry to crash, but just wondering if a plastic matress cover for baby's crib is an essential? The mattress I have has a washable cover, and I've put a fitted sheet over it, but do I need to waterproof everything as well?

dummy?? whats that haha i have binkys if thats the same thing lol and baby monitor not yet =) the baby will be in our room until about 3 months old or ill be rooming with him for a while.. as i like to be right next to lil one on a blow up bed haha in the room while they are in crib =)

oh yes =) i have plenty of those as my babies are quite the spitters haha

It makes it easier if you have to change everything in the middle of the night. That way you just rip off the sheet and mattress cover and you don't have to worry about scrubbing the mattress too. Also, it prevents stains etc from forming on the mattress. It's not necessary but it's nice IMO.
