Nursery furniture - is a wardrobe really needed???

Nah I don't have one I've just got a changer with drawers and his cot bed which has a drawer x

We've got a HUGE Ikea one in LO's room. I couldn't live without it and yes, I do hang her dresses, dungarees and coats. Only half is for her though, the other half is storage for us :)

Not got one. I don't do ironing or anything and she doesn't have a lot of clothes which could need hanging. I have a large chest of drawers and we make do with that.

We've actually got two (one heirloom given and one that we bought second hand as part of a set with cot and chest of drawers) and I've hardly used either. Unfortunately we had (fingers crossed for past tense) a LO that was sick very very often and it wasn't uncommon for us to change his outfit up to 20 times a day - no way I was going up and down the stairs to the wardrobe everytime!! We ended up buying a cardboard toy box that lived under the stairs and the clothes literally went from the tumble dryer into the box that we could reach in a hurry and never even made it to his room. Now he's older the clothes make it upstairs where I drop them on the floor in a pile and they wait to be hung up :/ So no, don't buy one lol X

I dont know how i'd keep outfits together if I didnt have hanging space - the clothes would just get lost under piles of other ones and would never get worn! When they're hanging, its easier to remember what you've got and rotate outfits. I only use the drawers for extra baby grows/sleepers, random separates such as leggings and tshirts, tights and socks. I am a bit weird though and hang each outfit with vest, tights, cardi and all, so I can grab one hanger and have everything I need there without having to search. It makes life easier and gets max use out of her (many many many) clothes.

I found I really needed one ! LO has too much stuff. I'm quite OCD so I like everything neat and organised. I tried without a wardrobe but bits and bobs were everywhere! So it had really helped me ! Xx

in the uk is it not common to have closets in your bedrooms?

here its pretty rare to not have any unless you live in a old victorian style house or something.

Evelyn has a wardrobe with a section thats shelved, so easy for folding grows and vests into.

xx
