Nurses Gifts?

With my first daughter, I made treat bags for the nurses at the hospital to thank them for taking good care of me (I assumed that they would and pre-made them and brought them to the hospital with me and just handed them out to the nurses). The nurses really enjoyed and appreciated them. Plus, they took extra good care of me because I thought about them. Yes, I have no shame, but mostly just wanted to let them know that I did appreciate their hard work.

I got favor bags, filled them with candy (My daughter was born on Halloween so it was appropriate) and put a ribbon and a jeweled flower on the bag with a tag that said "Thank you for taking care of my mommy ~ Baby E"

So I am going to do the same with this baby. I'll probably do the same exact thing. Pictures attached.

Is anyone else doing a nurses gift? What are you doing?

yh im sure ill put a lil something in my bag for them :)
if there nice :haha:

Honestly, I never would have thought to do that...! lol... VERY sweet of you though.

Cute gift bags to boot! ;)

The flowers on the bag are actually also hair clips! :D I made them and clipped them to the ribbon so they also serve a purpose! lol

Lovely idea, but no I will not be doing that.

The quicker I am in and out the better.

If we end up in longer than expected and they treat me well then OH will pick up cakes/chocs for them.:flower:

Cute idea was thinking what I'd get for my midwife and then a few of the nurses..

what did you put inside the bags?

Candy. My daughter was born on Halloween day (Oct 31, 2006) so I felt it was appropriate to treat them with some candy! :)

I stayed overnight and gave them teabags and coffee and a tin of biscuits :) from a hospital employee, theres only so much sweets one can take, tea and coffee is ALWAYS appreciated.

A nice idea, but no, I won't be getting gifts for nurses/midwife. What with having baby, Christmas coming, decorating our house and my sisters wedding 2 weeks before baby due, simply don't have money to spend on gifts for nurses.
If I'm in baking mood during early labour I may bake a cake and take it in with me, or hubby will get a tin of chocs if I'm in for any length of time but that'll be it.
Cute idea though
Xx

ow mini sweet hampers. We've got a great sweet shop in my town proper old school sweets can get a selection and then aswell a bath set with the mini bottles of shower gel etc they can have one each.. cheap fabric from the market with ribbon ;) sorted and passes time when I'm getting really bored at the end ready to pop! :) Then the things i dont give out i can have win win :D
Defo some flowers im taking to my midwife i see at the moment ill take LO due to her being in a different hosptail ill be giving birth in :)

Great idea. To the moms who don't want to do much more, all we did was send thank you cards to the nurses and then to their supervisors as well if they were really good. A thank you goes a very long long long way :) It is very hard work being a ped. nurse. Another simple thing is that you could bake some cookies (or have someone ELSE do it) and bring those in.

I love your bags--very very cute!

That's very thoughtful of you. I might take a box if chocs and a thankyou card if I am organised enough! x
