My LO is almost 9 months old, and has never STTN. I don't really expect her to yet, but she is still feeding 3 hourly, which given the solids she is eating seems excessive. People are telling me she should be STTN now, or that it's just habit, or she's just thirsty. I am happy to keep feeding her, especially as she's a very active slim thing (on the 50th centile, gained 6.5oz in the last month) but how would I know if her feeding are just out of habit? She often takes both breasts but as we nurse to sleep this could be because one isn't enough for her to drift off? But could she really eat that much out of habit?

As I say I'm happy to feed her as long as she needs it but if I can help us both get more sleep that'd be great!

She'll cut it down in her own time.

My DD goes through phases of waking more/less.

Maybe she is "just thirsty" but hydration is very important.

My DD is a few months older than yours but seriously every day lately she's less and less of a baby. It's wonderful but also a little sad to see her growing up so fast.

Enjoy the cuddles and boob time. They aren't babies for long. Xx
