I know we have one or two how have / are nursing while pregnant and I wondered if they would share their experiences?

I am already a little nervous about the prospect of dry nursing. I know she's not anywhere near weaning so I am anticipating nursing right through this pregnancy (God willing [-o< )

Did anyone end up dry nursing at any point? That's the part I'm most anxious about.....:?

Thanks :D

Sam completely refused to nurse after about 13 weeks :( And he suddenly went from 3 feeds a day to nothing (I hadn't planned to stop but it was after his birthday, and had it been much earlier I think I would have tried harder than I did to keep going). I think Marley had more luck with it though... I hope it goes better for you x

Thanks hun. Hubby got Hebe up this morning to let me sleep (the extreme fatigue hit last night) and played with her then started making her porridge. I got up thinking she over slept and was 'but she's not had mimi!' She didnt 'mind' but I did  She's a bit little for no milk just yet :(

I'm sure you'll be fine for a while yet. Sam didn't show any signs of wanting to stop in the first 3 months. I was so upset when he did stop but he just completely refused one morning and hasn't seemed bothered about it at all so I didn't have much choice

This is your idea of a lie in btw?! x

Kaya dry nursed for a while before it got too painful for me and I had to stop her. Have you read Adventures In Tandem Feeding? It's really good and full of practical tips and advice. There a lot of women that don't dry up when pregnant.

 I would have stayed in bed longer but I knew I hadnt fed her so I was up!!! Should go back really but he just beat me to it!!

What point did you dry up? I'll look for that book - thanks!

I might not dry up but I keep seeing it mentioned and I'm a tad nervous at how painful its being described.....:?

 I'm wishing I was still in bed. Felt way too early when Sam woke up at 8 but I've had to leave hubby in bed this morning because he got up at 5 with him yesterday and let me sleep! x

I think it was about 4 months into the pregnancy, but I'm not sure.

We should get past the 12 month mark then before any potential problems. :)

I dont think i've said yet.. HUGE congrats!!!

Do you plan to tandem nurse???

Dry nursing is where your milk starts to change back to colostrum later in the pregnancy and continue to BF but there's not much of anything there. It doesnt happen to everyone but apparently if it does, it hurts like feck! :D
