My DD is 8 weeks old and has been on Nutramigen for almost a month now because she was very gassy and fussy on every other formula and even my breastmilk. We saw some improvement initially with the Nutramigen, but about two weeks ago noticed she has mucus in all of her poopy diapers and she became fussy again. We sent a sample to the lab and it tested negative for blood and infection. Her doctor said as long as there is no blood and she is gaining weight it is no big deal. He thinks she has colic and that is why she is so fussy. I just don't think it is normal to have mucus in your poop and something must be going on. Has anyone else had a similar problem and did you go on an elemental formula? I hate to spend that kind of money, but if she is hurting and that will fix it I will do what I have to.

It sounds like your LO might have a cow's milk protein intolerance. Those symptoms were very similar to Holly's. She is on Nutramigen AA, which is an elemental formula, and we've had no problems since. She was on Aptamil Pepti before that, which is very similar to Nutramigen Lipil 1, and she still had symptoms.
