Three little girls in their school uniforms have just wrapped my door at 8.20pm. They were no more than P1 and were totally on their own. They were looking for a friend but didn't know where she lived. They are not from round here, I have never seen them before. When I told them I didn't know where their friend lived they asked me for sweeties. Do people not teach their children about "stranger danger" anymore? When they left my house I saw them asking my neighbour who was coming in from his car.

Surely children of this age should be in bed or getting ready for bed at this time of the night? It is pretty dark and I live on a very busy road. I could have been any sort of weirdo! Maybe it's just because I'm feeling down today anyway, but why do people who turn out to be such useless parents have children and us LTTCers struggle, when we would be brilliant parents, or try our best to be anyway, because our babies would be so loved and wanted.

Just needed to vent because I'm home alone!!

OMG they only have to knock on some weirdos door and they'll be tomorrows news!

That's shocking. I know I'm no expert but surely 8.20pm for 5 year olds is at least pyjama and story time if not bedtime.
Some people don't deserve to be parents (but we all do!)

OMG, that's awful :( Anything could happen...

That's awful and so dangerous

Do you know what school uniform it was to perhaps report it to the school?

Better safe than sorry

Just an idea
xxx

I did think about reporting it, I know the school, but wasn't sure whether there was much point since I don't know who this little girls were....I might give them a quick call in the morning, as you said better safe than sorry.

At least, if nothing else, you'll know that you did something.

thats awful!! what on earth are they doing out at that time :nope:

How horrible.

Gosh that pisses me off

OMG Steph - that's disgraceful. I have a thing about schoolchildren being in their school uniforms after school hours, but to allow your 5 year old child to go knocking on strangers' doors is absolutely shocking. Did you phone the school?

I would have rung the police tbh, they could have been lost.

I phoned the school and spoke to the secretary, she said she would speak to the principal and he would call me if he wanted to know anything else.

That's good, at least you know now that you've done what you can. Usually schools at that age are quite small so he might either a) have an idea of who it is b) put something in the newsletter warning parents of the dangers of letting their kids wander around!
