Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone who has had this could give me any advice..

My liver function test results have been consistently high for a while now, and now my bile acids are creeping up too.

Been to hospital today to have bloods repeated again ready to see my consultant next week - to see what we're going to do.

What were you're levels ( if you know ) Both liver test function ones and you're bile acids?

Were you induced early / was it controlled with meds?

I'm so bloody fed up, i'm on meds for my blood pressure and being monitored daily for that, I'm really anemic and feel pants from that and now this

I've replied to your other post hun, sorry I didn't see this one

A few ladies on here have had O.C, maybe they will see this and can offer extra advice x

Hi hun.

I was diagnosed with OC at 34 weeks. At 34 weeks my bile acid level was 17 and then at 35 weeks it went up to 37. I can't remember the others sorry.

I was given vitamin A (I think? Sorry, can't remember, it was a tablet I had to chew every morning) and hy-something-acid (I'm rubbish aren't I) - took this morning and night. This was from 35 weeks onwards.

Was induced at 37 weeks spot on and had my daughter at 37+1.

Try not to worry, as long as you're monitored you'll be fine I'm sure!!

hi i was diagnosed with this at 33 weeks during my last pregnancy my liver function levels were 750+ and my bile acids were 117 i was given a tablet to take daily it was called ......phosphate cant remember exactly what it was called and vitamin K i also had to take piriton for my itching.

I was also monitored every 2 days and had a scan every friday until my LO was born.

I was induced at 38 weeks and had a healthy little boy @ 38+2.

I notice on your ticker that you are nearly 38 weeks. if i was you i would ask your consultant to induce you as soon as possible. I dont want to scare you at all i know how scary pregnancy is in the first place but the chance of stillbirth increases after 38 weeks.

Hope this helps hunny and try not to worry to much not long to go now.

Hi there

I have no idea what any of my levels were but my OC was spotted at 37 weeks & I was admitted straight away & induced a week later!

Good luck hope it all goes well x

I got symptoms of OC at 37/38 weeks (just happened to mention to doctor that I had itchy hands and feet at routine visit), got results day I turned 39 weeks - don't know levels, was told that as I was full term that I would be induced rather than giving meds to control liver function. Was sent into hospital next day to be induced. My induction took 4 days so had my daughter at 39+5.

hiya hun my bile acids wer up to 25 and i got told they shoulda been lower than 14 ?? mine was trated with urso tablets i cant spell the full name of them sorry, i was diagnosed with it at around 20 weeks

i was diagnosed in first pregnancy at about 28 weeks, bile acids etc gradually crept up, itching was a nightmare, took piriton occasionally for it but it made my already very sleepy baby more sleepy so tried to do without meds and was told i would be induced no later than 37 weeks but with all the other stuff i had i ended up having an emergency c section at 35 weeks baby was fine in NICU but not so much effect form the OC more the other stuff i had! The OC was really uncomfortable. I agree with the other lady you should be induced now adays by 38 weeks if you have it, it used to be 37

Good luck with it all XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
