Got my first appointment with my new GP. I'm not looking hopeful after my appointment with the nurse a few weeks ago( she said I was too fat and too young hence why they wont do fertility treatments etc).

I'm going to ask about tests and also getting tested for Pcos. My sister has it and my cycles are so so so irregular, so who knows lol. I just want to be taken seriously really. Ok I'm overweight, plenty of overweight women get fertility tests at least!

Just feeling really bleh about it all. I know he'll say the same as the nurse and it feels like I'm fighting a losing battle.

Oh and to top it all off I saw my brother in law's 20 week pregnant girlfriend this week, after managing to avoid them both for 16 weeks lol! She was wearing one of those " I love my baby bump" t-shirts whilst smoking... :hissy: and a very good friend of mine is also pregnant, 8 weeks, I'm happy for her but god I wish that was me.

It's so hard to stay positive isn't it girls? :hugs: xxxx

I don't usually respond to stuff like this, as I don't want to be considered judgemental, but OMG how is that not considered some form of child abuse? And does she not feel embarrassed? Good god woman, if you don't give a toss, don't wear the bloody t-shirt. Sorry, rant over. I totally understand why you felt bad after seeing her.

Babydust to you - I hope you get your BFP soon. You certainly deserve it more than she does. xx

I know I think its terrible to smoke during pregnancy personally! But getting pregnant for her meant that she could get a house from the council, which I think is terrible. To delibrately get pregnant so she can get a house :dohh:!

Oh but my other brother in laws girlfriend, got pregnant a month after hearing that the other girlfriend was pregnant. Now thats what I call class

This is why I prefer to stay away from my in laws lol! It's a running joke in the family that as soon/if I get pregnant one of them will conveintly get pregnant to. Families eh lol xxxx

Oh god, time to give up and leave the country. It ain't fair is it, when there's good people like you who want to live a normal life and give a baby a lovely home, and then people like that. Good luck to you. xx

well :happydance: it went rather well!

I went in expecting the lecture about my weight and having to lose weigt before they do any tests and it didnt come lol!

He thinks I have pcos, I'm going for an internal scan  lol not looking forward to that! Having bloods taken in 2 weeks, he's given me valium to get me through the blood tests ( I almost had a panic attack just talking about the blood tests!) then depending on the results Mr T will have a sperm sample taken and then he said iui and ivf!

I was shocked lol someone actually taking me seriously, not a hint of my weight or age mentioned!!! I am so friggin happy lolol! xxxxx

Good to hear your GP listened to you. Hope everything works out well in the end xx

Aw i totally understand ya hun, frustrating to say the least!!!

I hope it goes well ,xxx

Thats great news about your appointment (not your family!) :happydance:

Don't worry about the intenal scans, they aren't bad at all, neither are blood tests. Unfortunatley there are A LOT of them involved with IVF!

That's great news chick!
A good GP makes all the difference!

Good luck with the tests, don't worry about the ultrasound it's a breeze (even the internal one sound scary but it doesn't hurt)

As for family, both my BIL/GF & BRO/GF are pregnant so i totally understand how hard you find it. although their circumstances are somewhat better, i still feel envious! BIL/GF are due next month and we went to see their nursery now the cots is up etc. i can tell she is starting to get scared about the whole birth and baby thing now.

Thanks girls :)

I'm still so happy lol! :happydance: Hopeully all these blood tests will get me over needle phobia! My Dh is happy aswell lol, he's been grinning at babies in the street and looking up lots of ttc stuff lol bless him! I know we aren't getting a baby within the next few months but its nice to have a time line you know, know all this heartache is going somewhere! xxx

It is great news that things are starting to happen, the internal isnt to bad at all. Good luck with the blood tests, they will be over before you know it and for a very good cause xxx

Hopeully all these blood tests will get me over needle phobia!

Funny you should say that. This time last year I was so phobic of doctors and needles and now I can't wait to get pricked and prodded! LOL so you never know!

Good luck with your appointment Chica, I know I had to press my doctor about my PCOS diagnosis. It seems so common yet so little doctors actually rule it as an explanation. Weird.

x

Glad someone else had a needle phobia lol! After seeing so many doctors over the years I assumed I'd get fobbed off but he said about me might having Pcos, and seemed concerned no one had given me tests before lol! And pcos is so common like you said, surely thats the first thing they should test for!

He seemed really nice about my phobia to, its really bad, but he offered valium without me asking! I think he's a keeper lol! xxx
