Oh god - not again

Went to the toilet this morning and found some blood, not much, just a light pinkish red colour, but that's exactly how my previous m/c's have started

I've spoken to the midwife and they've managed to get me a scan tomorrow morning, but I'm terrified. We were so close to the 12 week mark that I was starting to feel quite relaxed about everything, I even bought a little baby toy at the weekend in a fit of optimism. Now I feel like I've jinxed myself

Has anyone had bleeding after previous m/c's and had everything turn out alright? I need to believe that there's some hope out there for me.............

Have hope Katy. I had some bleeding yesterday after a scan showing everything was OK on Saturday. We told our family on Sat afternoon and yesterday I felt we had jinxed it by doing that. I've also got a scan tomorrow. Our beans WILL be ok hun, we've got to have hope. xxx

Thanks girls, I just feel like crying right now. It would be so cruel to get this close only to lose another pregnancy.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow TripleB - I'll let you all know how I got on. I'm trying to hold onto the hope that things might still be ok (failing pretty miserably though, it has to be said).

Hi KatyKat. LOTS of people have bleeding/spotting like that and it's fine. Every pregnancy is a fresh start and is different, so just because things have happened a certain way before doesn't mean they will follow exactly the same pattern.

I think the percentage of losses is already massively decreased by the stage you're at, even though you're not quite at the 12 weeks yet.

Maybe ask the same question on the 3rd trimester forum? I bet LOADS of people say they had the same thing in their first tri.

I lost my little boy @ 20 weeks (found out he had died at 20 week scan) in dec 08. found out i was pregnant again in Jan 10. Had bleeding at 6 weeks, paniced and went straight to A&E, got scanned the following day and saw little tiny heart beating away. Had my 13 week scan and again all was fine with baby, then 3 days later woke up again to find quite a big bleed so again went to A&E terrified, had a scan the following day and again all was fine with the baby, now i have made it to 25 weeks.

It is so hard not to panic when you see the sight of blood, i know i did, both times i went to A&E i was so distraught i could not tell them what was wrong, but thankfully all was fine.

I will keep my fingers crossed that all is ok and your little one is just causing havoc already.... i know my little girl likes to do it with me.

Well, had the scan and it was amazing!!!! Monkey is fine, and although he/she pretty much insisted on standing on his/her head for the duration of the scan (sigh, an awkward child already) we saw lots of movement!

I've attached a pic.

The even better news is I still get a dating scan in week or so - I was expecting them to say I wouldn't after this scan, but the nurses were lovely and told me that this scan was purely to check that monkey was ok, and all the dating etc would be done next time. They even gave me 4 pics and said they don't charge for them, which really suprised me!

Soooooo relieved!

Fantastic Katy, so pleased for you that your scare was nothing to worry about. I had my scan too and all is well - couldn't see any reason for the bleeding so just one of those things. Not long until you get to see your LO again! xxx

So glad all went ok, my hospital where like that with me, when i had my 20 week scan we explained to the sonographer how we didnt like having scans cus that was how we found out about Harry and at the end of the scan she shoved 6 scan pics (all different) in to my hands and told me not to pay for them!!

Glad all is ok and you get to see your little one again very soon!!! xx

Glad everything is well with your little monkey. I had 3 light bleeds in this pregnancy so know how scary it is. Im also glad you still get your dating scan so you get to see baby again

And it's nice to hear about lovely hospital staff too - the people you come into contact with along the way make SUCH a difference to how you feel about things. The lady who scanned me to confirm my MC was lovely too and I was so grateful.
