OH wants to move abroad :(

...to pursue his career and make some serious money.

...I want a quiet life and to start our little family.

Anyone any ideas on how to compromise our way out of this one?

I don't think the ideas clash that much really. You guys could move away for him to persue his career and make some money, while you also try to start a family. Most likely you'd have access to good medical care if you gave birth there but if you wanted to go back to your country to give birth, you could always do that and join him a few months after the birth. I'm not sure if you were planning on working after starting a family in the UK, but it sounds like you'd have the option of staying at home for a longer period of time with the baby with him making more money which could be nice!

Your feelings about this are VERY important though and if you are not comfortable with the idea, be clear about it. It's not fair for you to put your plans on hold for his when he won't do the same for you. There has to be a mid-way compromise in there somewhere. Hope you are able to find a good solution!
