Ok - deep breath. I need support!

Hey ladies,

So, on Thursday I have an appointment with a perintologist to talk about preconception. The reason is because I've had two major health issues in my past and my GP is concerned about complications with being pregnant. I mde this appointment several weeks ago so I've been able to try to push it out of my mind but now that it is day after tomorrow I'm freaking out. Today I had to get my CD out with my medical records and get everything printed and I started reading it again and it made me really scared.

I hope everything goes well on Thursday and they say that pregnancy will be just find and dandy! I just needed to get that off my chest...

Good luck with it. Don't have much to say but didn't want to read and run. At least it is getting looked into even though it is making you anxious as then they can make sure you are well looked after when you are pregnant

yeah hun like buttons said . they are looking into it to see if you healthy enough for pregnancy , and there will be no complications , i know it is worring but if they give ya the go ahead then at least you will feel confident that your pregnacy will be without worrys .

I'm sure it will be better to know and what to do then not. I know how you feel though about fearing the unknown. Hopefully everything said is positive and will help a healthy pregnancy.

Okay you guys-

It went fairly well, he told me that he wouldn't discourage me from getting pregnant. He thought most likely it would be a healthy and complication-free pregnancy. However, with my medical history he would still consider me possible high-risk and would want me to be treated as if I am high-risk which includes seeing a specialist a few times during my pregnancy...

That sounds like a good result! At least you know you will be closely monitored and hopefully that'll give you some peace of mind. Glad all went well!

Aww I'm really pleased the appointment wasn't a negative one for you! I know how scary appointments like that can be with GPs, I always dread speaking to mine relating to things like this (because of my own health issues).

A healthy and complication free pregnancy is definitely great news! And with the added reassurance of extra monitoring it will hopefully help keep your mind at rest
