Oligohydramnios/leaking amniotic fluid?

I've posted here before but am wondering if anyone else is suffering with this? Just wondering as I've started leaking fluid again and am feeling very alone a the mo

Hasn't happened to me, that I know of. When did it start? What has your doctor advised? Bed rest? I've seen several threads where ladies said their fluid has eventually built back up and all was well.

my waters went at 14 weeks and have been trickling since. I was advised bedrest and to drink plenty of fluids followed by weekly scans and check ups x my fluic last week was 3cm and went up to 10cm on Monday which put me into the normal range but I started leaking again yesterday.

I'm hoping the membranes repair themselves at some point x

Awww sequeena. Where you on bedrest when they built up again? Are you on antibiotics?

It was so lovely to see you happy the other day and now you are right back down again is there nothing they can do to help?

I'm not on antibiotics, when I had my internal my cervix was long and closed so they were happy to leave me on bedrest.

It's awful how I can be up one minute and down the next. Grr.

The best advice I (a non-sufferer of this condition) can give you is to get back in bed, cross your legs and drink up. Hopefully someone with a tad more knowledge will hop on here and be of more use. In the meantime, hugs to you!

How can it leak if it is closed? Am I being thick?

My cervix is long and closed but has fiberous tissue poking out which cause me to leak teeny tiny bits mainly when I have bh or sneeze.

I hope some ladies who know what they ate talking about offer you advice soon!

I'm sorry hun, must be very scary for you. I pray everything turns out well. I've never dealt with your situation, but I've heard that drinking lots of water and bed rest can help. Sending prayers your way..

im sorry this is happening to you hun

this also happened to me so I know how worried you are feeling

the fact that your waters built back up is VERY encouraging so stay on strict bed rest (by strict I mean dont get out of bed AT ALL unless to use the bathroom) & drink drink drink as much water as you can possibly manage

do not under any circumstances have sex as you are prone to infection now & anything inside you could bring on premature labour

I don't want to scare you sweetie but you need to do everything in your power to avoid leaking & give your membranes a chance to reseal again as if the water continues to leak the prognosis is very poor at this gestation

I know strict bed rest sounds extreme but its the only thing you can do right now to keep your baby inside you for as long as possible xx

I don't know Emmea, it must have opened I have no idea what's going off. Everyone keeps reassuring me and all I can do is rest.

Nicky thanks so much for your advice, I only found out about NOT having sex last night as I managed to find a good PDF about PROM. None of my consultants mentioned it, which is daft as I bring my partner to every appointment. We'd not had sex since 11 weeks as I've been tired and worried about this pregnancy. We finally had sex for the first time on Sunday night so I'm worried again.

I felt wet all the time. Sometimes I could feel something coming out but at the time I thought it was just wee/discharge.

I have to wear pads constantly. Thought pregnancy meant I didn't have to bother!

I had the same thing in my last pregnancy waters broke at 22weeks no one believed me untill i begged for a scan and waters were below 5thcentile i leaked constantly untill there were no water left. I was admitted to hospital for a month of bed rest and fluids nothing helped my biggest measurement was 0.5cm, i then started bleeding and my boy had to be delivered at 27 weeks born with severe chronic lung disease due to having no water and being squashed in there had steroids but they didnt help as no water to work in x

Oh god I'm so sorry, the lowest my fluid has gone down to is about 3cm

I had a list of things i could and couldnt do no baths no sex plenty of water was a nightmare but id do it all again in a heartbeat x I had an amazing 4months with my boy before he grew his wings Hope everything turns out good for you !!! No I haven't and I'm worried now that not everything is being done so trying to ring round now and see what's happening. It doesn't help that I suddenly have a new community midwife

well id ring and ask if you need erythromycin (antibiotic) that is what i was given to keep infection away i also had blood took twice a week and temp and bp everyday as change can indicate infection x
