I am so excited. Poppy just took a bottle for the first time!

Rather than trying her during the day, as I have been doing up until now and to no avail, I waited until she woke for a feed so that she would be a bit "out of it" and just slipped it in...and she drank 2oz in one go!

I know it's early days and it might take some time to get her used to taking one during the day but, nonetheless, I'll be celebrating with a glass of wine tonight!

Thanks to Cupcake for recommending the MAM teats. For you other ladies who are trying, I bought the New Baby Medium Flow as Poppy is a very vigorous feeder. Oh and I didn't buy the bottle, just the teat as I have soooo many bottles and I figured it was bound to fit on one of the ones I already had. It did. The NUK one.

THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!" bless her. i had to wean her off breast as she wasnt satisfied onboob alone. shes now a little chucky money :) xx =D>:lol:bless her. how u gettin on?

Jemima I was thinking about you in the night wondering if you'd had your MAM bottles and if they'd worked  That's SUCH good news.

I ended up buying a really cheap Disney bottle yesterday which had a normal teat and also more of a beaker style teat to see if Poppy would take it. She wasn't keen on the beaker one as the milk just came out very fast, but she had a bit of a chew on the other one and wasn't screaming like normal. The bottle had handles so she was a bit happier being able to hold them but she still didn't take a lot. We then sneaked in the usual Tommee Tippee bottle and again she didn't scream but didn't take that much.

I had wondered about just being able to buy the MAM teats and not the bottles - good to know they fit other ones!

Ahh you must be SO relieved :happydance:

Yeah, she didn't have a clue what was happening I don't think! Will have to try again when she is more awake and see how she takes to it.

She is doing great on the boob and is gaining tonnes of weight. She weights 14lb 9oz now and was 8lb 3oz at birth so it's definitely agreeing with her!

I just think it is a good idea to get her used to the bottle for when I go back to work/uni and who knows I might even get a night out!

Glad for u!!! :happydance:
I should try this amazing MAM teats too as my LO stopped taking the bottle :(((
