My LO normally has 6oz of formula, however, this morning, as she'd slept from 9pm last night I decided to do her 7oz. I put the water in first then the formula, cooled down etc and gave bottle to daddy to feed her. It was only when he asked how many oz there was that I realised I'd only put 6oz of formula in 7oz of water!! Is this ok???

It won't have hurt her for one feed Hon :hugs: :hugs: and it's much less of a problem than if you had done it the other way round :)

I'm sure we've all done this at some point or another :dohh:

Yep, no problem hun. We all have those moments

My trick is to start putting in the scoops then get distracted and forget how many I've added, then having to start again Very annoying! Anyway as OP said it won't do any harm at all as long as it's only the occasional feed.

I'm the same as Bubbles, I start putting the scoops in and get interupted or stop counting and forget :dohh: I've done it once before and my LO was ok!

I also have counting problem hence I use my powder dispensers now. I count my powder in there so if I lost count I just pore powder back to box and start again : )

I'm so glad i'm not the only one that seems to have a counting problem. I only have to count to 5 but the amount of time i loose count because i start thinking of something. Really annoy myself sometimes lol

It's kind of weird because all the US brand formulas I've seen it's 1 scoop=2 oz. so for a four ounce bottle I only need two scoops. I can usually handle counting that high.

One feed, or even a couple here and there where the amounts are a bit off aren't going to be harmful. :)

I have dyscalculia (the 'official' word for number problems!) so i have to count out loud as i'm scooping the powder, like silly loud and if anyone starts talking to me when i'm doing it i just get louder!! :dohh: Although to start off with i struggled to get my head around the how many oz's at whatever time- my OH had to write down all the times for me!!! lol I manage now because i know what kind of time Rylee needs feeding! Powder dispensers would be a help with the measuring issue....hadn't thought of that

I'm sure I've done that at least once! Although tbh I'm sure it has been more than once. Mika only wakes up for nighttime feeds every now and then so I'm not used to doing them anymore and don't work quite as well on autopilot as I did when he was a newborn!

I usually count out loud, otherwise I get distracted too easily. Although yesterday I was counting scoops and I heard OH say from the living room "you said three twice!"
