I love the show but I am starting to wonder sometimes... where do they find these people?

Did the traveller type girl not know you get free dental treatment while pregnant, she had the worse teeth I have ever seen... and then when the baby was born and her boyfriend said "he's got brown finger nails because we smoke" .. eewww....

They seem to get some real numpties on these days, like the guy who was too scared to go in to the operating theatre with his wife last week, or the one sat munching on fish and chips...

hahah I know! I have been watching this too. But it makes me wonder, maybe it takes a certain 'type' to agree to be filmed.

Oh my goodness, the man who sat munching on fish and chips and told his wife to stop moaning (or something like that) made me actually yell at the telly. If my OH did that he would get a massive kick up the bum and be sleeping on the sofa for a decade or more!

lol agree - there is NO WAY i'd have my labour on TV so maybe they attract unusual ones (though some of them are ok). The girl with the teeth was very pretty as well. I dont know how your teeth could be like that at 20 - even if you'd never brushed them surely they wouldnt be that bad.

maybe it's the area the hospital is in - its in portsmouth or southampton which are big big places so they'll have a share of less fortunate people - and like you say the sane people are staying off camera!

The girl with the black teeth did gross me out.. I have a thing about teeth.. I can't help it but everyone keeps saying doesn't she know she could have free dental because she is pregnant but realistically the amount of dental work she needed doing a dentist would not ever do on a pregnant lady!
I need a blooming filling and my private dentist will not do a thing during pregnancy!

re: your dentist - i broke a tooth (was pretty good timing re: free maternity treatment!) and while having that fixed he gave me a filling. dont see why you cant have it done (im with an NHS dentist though...)

yes that girl on one born needs a few years of work. since she had so many missing they'd be better to take them all out and have a set of good false ones... hope she didnt smoke when preggers - poor kid

I was thinking exactly the same thing. All i heard him talk about was meth. The teeth were the first thing i noticed when she appeared on the show. Got a really good luck when she was lying down lol. Have never seen teeth so bad in my life.

The meth couple were cute, you could tell they really loved each other but the whole meth thing took away from the actual birth story.

How bizarre!! Clearly dentists are a bit like drs and all have their own ways the lack of filling isn't even causing me any pain.. my fricking wisdom tooth trying to come through is though

I think she did smoke when she was pregnant, she said as soon as she popped the babvy out she wanted to go out for a fag & that drives me insane!! I'm an ex smoker and never in a million years would I smoke during pregnancy!!! It gets me so angry *angry face*

Yeh the meth guy was abit OTT & he did seem a bit immature for 33. She was from a good background too no wonder she said her parents didnt approve of him! I laughed when he had the teeth girl in the back of that trailer thing! bit dangerous if you ask me though & yeh she needs thousands spending on those teeth or lack of! oh & she was just looking at hands covered in blood in disgust I mean what did she expect??!

I can't see the meth couple lasting to be honest. There were too many gaping differences.

She was obviously from a well to do background and said she wanted her daughter to have a similar upbringing with nice things nice holidays etc.. he was a nice enough guy but admitted he had always been the type to get in to trouble and hang out with the wrong crowd and had a totally different upbringing. He hadn't had a good education and didn't really have any prospects.... she still wanted to do maths at uni and get a job in the city...plus he was 15 years older.

I'm still smoking too - everyones situation is different, people who are quick to judge make me so angry
