Long story short - ttc for well over a year finally did 2 rounds of clomid and got pregnant with 2 nd round which ended in misscarriage @ 6 wks. I saw the Dr. Today and he gave my options and I don't know what to do. He suggest we actually go on birth control pill to balance out my hormones ( I have pcos) then stop after 1 month and it will make me ovulate in stead of doing clomid. What do you think??? I was kinda thinking since I'm finishing up the miscarriage now I might ovulate on my own in 2 weeks. I've read after a miscarriage you are very fertile so I really don't wanna miss the chance. As I really don't want to do clomid again I just feel that it thinned my uterine lining which caused me to m/c. I spotted for 10 days before the miscarriage. I could definitely be wrong, just what I feel. All opinions and help are appreciated!

didnt want to read and run...
I really have no idea on a medical side what would be best.
It is true most women tend to be more fertile after a M/C.
I would suggest you do what YOU are comfy with. :)

After your MC you could go either way. I have heard that some women are more fertile and other's don't even ovulate. My doctor told me that coming off BC that women are very fertile and it can lead to higher rates for multiples, which is why he recommended that I wait one cycle after coming off BC (I didn't but didn't get pregnant either). So I would say that would be a valid option too.

I don't know if it would hurt anything to wait to see if you O after you MC and then if not start BC the next cycle. The only risk you run is delaying it another month, right?

firstly so sorry for your loss but every women is different you are very fertile after a miscarriage and can ovulate immediately after the bleeding stops do what you feel comfortable with, best of luck

Sorry for your loss. Has your dr. offered progesterone supplements to you? I've heard clomid does thin the lining? I still use them even when not taking fertility meds as they keep my cycles from being really long. I have long lp's without the progesterone.

I haven't tried clomid or anything but a lady on here used clomid and femara and apparently femara doesn't have the same side effects (thinning of endometrium). Might be worth making the suggestion to him to try that or go it alone this month and if it doesn't work then try his way.

I got pregnant straight off the pill (unfortunately ended in mmc) but my SIL's sister, and my good friend also got pregnant straight off the pill and one has already delivered a healthy baby boy and the other is about 35 weeks along with a little boy. So, I know that some people are less fertile after the pill but some def are more. I dont know anything about clomid so I can't really help on that end.

If it was me, and this is just my opinion, I'd see if I was one of the lucky ladies who get pregnant either straight after the miscarriage or the cycle after and if I didn't have any luck, then I'd try the BCP.

I wouldn't count on ovulating in 2 weeks though, it could be a lot sooner or it could be later. Everyone's body reacts differently to a miscarriage. One thing that I'd recommend is testing until you get a BFN though, as it can take some ladies a long time for their HCG levels to drop and I don't think that you'll ovulate until they do. Do you chart your temps? That's a good way of knowing if and when you ovulate. OPK's aren't that reliable for women with PCOS because we can have multiple surges of LH without actually ovulating.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
