Hey. Please can I have opinions on the name DEWEY! Pronounced (Doo-ee) .. my partner loves it and wants it for our 2nd baby if he's a boy. (He wanted it for our first son but I talked him out of it :P) now thinking about it I think it's really cute for while he is young but I'm really not sure when he grows up lol! Probably won't end up using it just wanted some honest opinions cos he really likes it (I won't be offended) :P it's one of those names I don't really dislike but can't imagine naming our baby it if you know what I mean . Thanks x

I know an adult named Dewey! He works with me in our New York office. I never thought that his name was weird or anything... but I could see others having a problem with your babies name since people are generally judgemental about that.

I must say, I'm not a fan of it. It's more like a nn to me.

I can't hear it without thinking of Malcolm in the Middle... which isn't a good thing, in my opinion. :haha:

As a name I don't hate it but I don't really like it, either. I agree that it sounds like a very juvenile name... like it should be short for Dewart or something.

Too nick-namey and too childish for an adult I think

Also it encourages teasing "doo-doo" type things :nope:

I don't really like it. Reminds me of silly names like Googey (goog-ee)

Sorry I am not keen on it when I hear it I think of Dewey from Scream the character David Arquette played!

I personally have not met anyone with that name, yet. It reminds me of the deputy guy in those scream movies, and he's kinda weird so that kind of throws me off. If anything I would use the name Dwight so he could chose to use the nick name version or not when he's an adult.

Sorry, not a fan. Seems more like a name of a character in a book or movie - a character who is a clumsy, bumbling, nerd-type.

Maybe better suited to a pet?

It reminds me of Donald ducks nephews - Huey, Dewey and Louie (although I do really like Louie). No offence meant)

I don't dislike it but it reminds me of Mr.Scrooges three nephews: Huey, Dewey, and Louie on Duck Tales.

For me, the name is a no-go... But that's because (and don't ask me why, cause I have no idea!) When I was growing up, it's what 2 of my boy cousins called their penises... :haha:

I'm not too keen on it as an actual name; I think it's better suited as a nickname :flower:

Thank godness I have talked the other half out of it ;) phew.
