So connah is now draining 6oz bottles every 3 hours, there will be the odd bottles maybe 1 a day where he will leave 1 oz or so(usually his first bottle as he doesnt like a big feed in a morning iykwim?)

Im thinking of moving him onto 7oz but should he really be still going only 3 hours?or could i leave him to go 4 hours? im a bit worried he will stop sleeping through as at the moment he has a dreamfeed at 10.30pm(he use to only take a few oz but now is even finishing the dreamfeed!)and then he will sleep til 7.30/8am ish!(lazy bum)

My HV said that 7oz was a bit much for a baby of 3 months but what else can i do:shrug:

Alot of my relatives(mum, grandma,MIL etc) have said a bit of baby rice at dinner time wouldnt hurt but im a little reluctant...

So can i have your opinions please ladies or advice as im stuck on what to do here, thanks x

We moved Caidan onto 8oz at 3 months. He feeds every 5 hours and sleeps from his last feed at 9/10pm until 7/8am.

Your baby needs what they need. HV's sometimes get it wrong!!

I dont think u should wait for LO to go longer...sounds like ur LO is like Kian coz he increased his bottle size (he now has 6/7oz) but never increased the time between bottles (well only at night) i tried to stretch times out but it made no difference. i just offer him a little more than he generally finishes per bottle so he can choose how much to drink and increase it if he feels like it. just keep going with feeding LO however much he wants whenever hes hungry and u can't go far wrong.
i think each baby has their own preferences when it comes to how much and how often they eat...just like adults do. dont feel like u have to follow feeding 'rules' or 'norms' x

i demand fed my lo. regardless of the space between feeds i always stepped up and oz once he began to regularly drain a bottle. dosnt matter if he leaves and oz or so now and again. i think it is best to offer as much as they want it dosnt matter if they waste a little bit :)

i dont think early weaning is really a good idea unless he is draining a whole bottle or you have tried hungry baby formula ( it is amazing how keen the older generation are to force that view on us.) obviously in some cases it is necessary but i dont think this is one of them, it is always best to hold off on weaning until 6 months if you can or 4 at the earliest :)

My LO has 6oz bottle every 3-4 hours and has started draining those some of the time, so going to up to 7oz to make sure she is getting enough. She is younger than yours, but i havent worried too much, she never sicks any up so i just go with what she wants.
