OPK almost positive then next day same time very negative?

Ok I have posted this in other threads so sorry if you have already answered
I have a 27 day cycle and just started using OPKs. On CD 8 the test line was there but faint. CD 9 it was dark and looked almost positive. I couldnt really tell. Then CD 10 I was expecting it to be even darker BUT there was almost no line at all. What gives? Was CD 9 my positive then? On the morning of CD 10 I had a clump of EWCM and brief cramping in my left side under my hip bone and a lower backache. It disnt last long though. Did I miss the surge?! Help! Idk if I should enter in the CD9 OPK as positive or not in my app.

Attached are the OPKs from day 9 on top and day 10 on bottom.

Oh and all were taken at 5pm after a 2 hr hold with no fluids during that time. And the CD9 one got super dark after the 3min time limit and definitely positive but Idk if that counts...

neither of them look completely positive to me 9 is darker but i wouldnt call it positive

I was wondering if maybe I missed the surge? Like if I had tested in between 9 and 10 I would have gotten a positive...because it seems weird for it to go from so close to a positive to almost no line at all within 24hrs...or do OPKs typically fluctuate like that? I was under the impression they get gradually darker til you O and then after O they get lighter...

As you can see I have no clue what Im doing

Well if that pic wasnt my positive I have no idea what's going on. CD17 now and still no positive OPK. Seems like with a 27 day cycle I would have ovulated by now. what the heck is going on.

This is CD15 OPK. Didnt take a pic of yesterday cause it looked the same. Clearly negative.

I would think that with a 27 day cycle you should be ovulating on about cd13 ish. Assuming you have a 14 day luteal phase.

When are you testing? Is it fmu? Or are you always testing later in the day?

Opk's suggest that ovulation might be about to happen. Only a temp rise if your taking your bbt every morning before you get up/move around can confirm whether OV happened & on which day. It might be worth giving it a try if you want to know what's going on?

Thanks! I forgot to update this...I got my positive OPK yesterday at CD18. It was still positive this morning too.
