OPK as HPT? 10 dpo

I got these today in the mail and of course had to fulfil my POAS addiction. I am 10 dpo and this is what I got. Top one is water, just for good measure. The next one is a what appears to be a neg HPT. And the bottom 2 are the OPKs. I also had what looks like an implantation dip this cycle. I dont know what to think tho, I have never used the OPKs before, or temped! What do you girls think about this? Anyone have a pos OPK before the pos HPT? I know they say they turn pos before the HPTs!

Hooray for feeding the addiction! Well, I can say that I've learned that OPKs do not always turn positive before you get a positive HPT. Sometimes you will not get a positive OPK until the day you get a positive HPT. The website www.peeonastick.com explains the science behind it, and includes an experiment using OPKs as HPTs.

Also, I'm sorry but those OPKs are not positive. You have LH in your system every day, so many gals will always see a line on an OPK. What makes it positive is if the test line is AS dark or DARKER than the control line.

I know that you want them darker if you are testing for ovulation, but I was surprised to see anything! I did not know that some girls see a line through their whole cycle. Good info to know. Thank you for the efforts to keep me sane!

No problem! Maybe keep taking the OPKs each day, and if it becomes positive, take an HPT?

Sorry.....but yep you gotta have that 2nd line (test) darker than or the same color as the control so those are negative but if you keep testing the 2nd line on your OPK will get darker....GL!

I know the lines are supposed to be dark when testing for LH but I have had my LH levels tested and they are normal. So I am thinking (hoping!) the test might be picking up HCG.

Feelcrazy of course I tested more! I went and bought a first response early result. I will definately test tomorrow and see if the line is darker, then maybe with another hpt.

I always have a 2nd line but its not positive....LH is always there more in some women then others.....HPT is the way to go to find a definite answer....

Actually... i had almost positive OPKS and kept getting darker that led to my BFP... so it is very possible!! i would say thats a VERY great sign! I would test daily and if they keep the color, or get darker (even slightly) you may be pregnant. although, some have had opks "nearly" positive and ended up with aunt flo....but not me : ) best of luck dear

I have used opk's for months and being an addict I would use them for fun at around 8,9,10,11 DPO and never get two lines.(light or med) But when I thought I was PG with my bean I took a HPT and got a - and took an opk and got a faint double line and every day it got darker til I was able to pick up a + HPT. So for my body I would never get any second line with an OPK til I was PG...so I think it's a good sign, it was for me. Good luck hun!!!

just looked at ur thread and ur ic opk is like mine are at least 4 times a month only get darker then that during ov x

The month I got my bfp, I also did 3 consecutive opks in the morning with fmu before I did any hpts. I only did hpt because I could see that each opk was getting darker (they were not positive ones), so it can happen,good luck hun

im not disputing that all im saying if its ur 1st tie doing opks u wont know whats normal for u just b4 af/bfp x
