I read that OPKs aren't reliable sometimes if you have PCOS as they can give you false positives. I just got my OPKs through from Amazon yesterday and thought I'd use one just to see. It was definitely negative, which it should be as I'm not O'ing just now but does this mean that they should work when/if I do O? X

I have pcos and have no issues using them.

This is my first cycle using OPK's and I went CB digital with the smiley (not the flashing one just the straight smiley). I got mine the day before I suspected I would ovulate. with PCOS, if you can, try to do a 7DPO progesterone test. They say day 21, which is a start but if you know you O after day 14 then it's best to wait until 7DPO. My first O cycle I did it on day 21 like they wanted to and my number was 12 nmol but this cycle when I knew I would O on day 17 I waiting the 7 days and my number was 69.3 nmol. Huge difference. And it was nice to see the confirmation.

You can get all the signs you are gearing up to O, including positive Opks and then not.
