Can anyone help most of my cycle and alot of previous cycles the opk seem to always be pos they are neg from cd1-5 then faint line then get mostly or nr pos till af arrives:cry:
whats wrong with me ?

what brand are you useing? are both lines showing the same colour?

Have you had your hormone levels checked?? It's quite common to have positive OPK's when you have polycystic ovaries ... Not saying you do but I would advise you get them checked just to be sure, otherwise it could be faulty OPKs!
I hope this helps a little x

its always happened since i started using them i get lines all the time on them and at least 5 dark pos different times of month.
will doc test me for pcos?
I have a hell of alot of symptoms that would be explained if i have pcos :(

It's quite simple to test for! Ultrasound scan of your ovaries is the main thing then they check your hormone levels to confirm it! If you do have it they can help you a lot! Check out the PCOS posts!

have you tried using a bbt thermomiter and chart? that may help.

i have yeh.....im on cd37 now :(
my cycles are from 26-40 days altho they been 32 days last few months.
i have very heavy painfull periods and my weight yoyo's also for last yr after coming off depo i have got excessive amount of hair(tmi i know)i have developed a line of hair from my belly button down.
iv also always had to get cream on prescription to curb acne..............

Well hun, you could possibly have PCOS with those symptoms. Excess hair, acne, weight issues and irregular cycles are all symptoms seen often with PCOS ladies. I cant remember if you've been to see the Drs previously but I think a visit wouldnt do you any harm hun because then if there is an issue, they can do something about it and get you that BFP you truly deserve! I hope you're ok hun, Ive been thinking of you with this long cycle you've had this month. :hugs:

Hi hun,
I've got pcos and used to use opks before I knew about it all and this used to happen to me. I really don't know much about opks sorry, but might be worth getting tested. If you explain to the Dr, they might send you for tests. It's just a blood test and ultra sound and camera.
I could be wrong though :hugs: There could be another reason to do with the opks
xxx

I'd definitely get checked out to see whether or not you have PCOS because those do sound like possible sympoms. I was diagnosed with PCOS last year and have quite a few of those symptoms - I don't get the constant positive OPKs or the acne but I have really bad weight gain, hair growth and I stopped having periods for quite a while.

It's quite easy to diagnose as PCOS shows up on an ultrasound of the ovaries, although some doctors (like mine) do bloods first to check your hormone levels incase it's another problem such as your thyroids.

Also, just another point.... although it's late and i'm a bit tired.... But, when you say that your tests are positive do you just mean that there's always a line?

Most brands of OPK are not actually positive unless your test line (usually the left one) is as dark as, or darker than, the control line (usually the right one) and it's not uncommon to get faint, or even relatively dark lines at other times of the cycle and these should still be regarded as negatives.

Don't have PCOS here but I'm with the other ladies, the symptoms you've mentioned do seem to fit. I used to think maybe I did but thats before I knew any of the symptoms and I don't fit any of them. But I did get 6 positive OPK's in a row this cycle, I've never had them stay positive until AF though because I always had a hard time even getting them to be positive until I started testing twice a day. They are finally negative again but it took 6 days from the first one! OPK's can just be very tricky! Hope you figure out whats going on and best of luck to you. :)

i wasnt going to go dr's just bcos opk as i know they are tempremental at the best of times, sometimes i notice a fading in and fading pattern.
when i mean pos the control line test line are the same or the test line is darker then control line.
It just seems to be another thing that can be linked to pcos.i reallly hope im wrong.
i have ibs which can be linked to pcos, havent been to dr for ages recently moved so have a new dr that iv never met...dont know if its lady or man dr. xxx
this is a post i posted on another site
I am 22,iv been on depo for 5 yrs coming off it april 2009,didnt get period until dec 09,since then periods have been all over the place last 2 months have been 32 this month im on cd37 no sign of af bfn tests

My first af ever was at 12 and remeber them only happening 4-5 times a yr-then 15 i went on depo which completely took away af.

- i have always had acne and use prescriptive cream to control it but lately its got worse
-my weight yoyo's and find it difficult to lose weight and keep it off
-my af is v heavy and get v painful cramps
-i have noticed i have developed excesive amount of hair esp from my belly button going down.and more hair in other places (soz tmi)
-i also have nr pos opks nearly all time and at least 5 diff pos throughout a cycle.
-this is my 9month ttc with no luck.

for a long time i put it down to my IBS and b4 that it was IBS and depo
Can these symptoms be masked by being on depo injection

Shall i go get tested?i hate going to dr's and have been putting it off using lots of excuses

pls someone shed some light

I think it'd definitely be worth going to the doctors - even if it's just to put your mind at rest. The symptoms you describe definitely sound like PCOS symptoms and it's quick and painless to test for so nothing to be worried about.

If you don't have PCOS then it's one less thing to be stressed about and if you do have PCOS then at least you'll get the help you need to conceive. It can be more difficult to conceive when you have PCOS but not impossible! However, you may benefit from some help from a gynaecologist - mine's prescribed me tablets to help me ovulate

It's no

i think either way ill be relived its the not knowing if everything comes bk as normal i can put it to back of my mind if it comes bk as pcos at least i have answers xx
