First of all I'll apologise for any spelling mistakes-I'm on my phone! Sorry to be moaning already when the week has only just started but I'm just so stressed and I have no one to talk to as everyone is in work. Ready for the rant???? I have a springer spaniel pup who is 9months old, when we bought her oh told me not to coz I'd regret it but I managed to convince him and we went ahead and bought her, she still pees in the house at least once a day and when I need to do my cleaning or put ds for a nap I have to put her in the kitchen she rips the wall paper and has chewed the kitchen lino,I love her to bits but the mess of the kitchen is really getting me down :( do I keep her and struggle through when the baby is here or do I find her another home before baby comes.I know she's a puppy and she's bound to do all thAt stuff but it's not helping, she's also chewed ds 1st rugby jersey which was expensive and special to us!! Second rant oh came home from football last night and some warning light had come on in the car so gonna have to pay for that which means I can't have my pram for another 2weeks :( I just feel soo stressed at the moment...sorry for the long post

Have you tried puppy classes with your dog to help train him? Personally getting rid of the dog should be a last resort but it's your decision at the end of the day with what you can cope with and what disipline you have time to enforce with him.

At what age is he no longer a puppy and therefore should grow out of this stage?

As for the car, see if you can play the pregnancy card with the garage :D

Ah im sorry to hear that hun:( I had a staffy pup and as we all know they are reknown for chewing. I ended up getting a crate and put him in there when he couldnt be watched, he actually loved it as i think it was his own space, he always had toys and chews in there on his bed and used to tease my other dog with them through the crate! Just an idea? As for car im sorry, these things always come when we dont need it!! Hope your ay and week gets better:hugs:x

She's been to puppy training classes when she was little but they ended and I can't find anywhere that does them in our areA, yeH getting rid of her is definately our very last resort but I know if it comes to that she will have a good home I'll make sure of that!! Wel she should have stopped peeing in the house by now and as for the chewing that could last for ages; I've bought her loads of toys for when she's Alone she goes for long walks daily I just don't know what to do anymore,

as for the car oh sorts all that out I'm useless it won't cost us too much but enough to eat in to our pram budget

The only thing with the crate is that she's already a huge dog and she's such a cry baby if we put her out the back for 5mins she's crying,we love her to bits though but it's getting tough now and my due date is looming

Hi there
I think you should give the crate training a go - it really worked for us and we had a husky puppy and they are very stubborn. At first he/she will whine when put in there but they will get used to it. It definitely helps with the house training as they dont like to wee near where they sleep.
We had two different sizes with our dog and the biggest one was huge so Im sure you could find one of adequate size.
Hope it works out xx

My Springer was crate trained, although from 6 weeks. We have a massive crate which would be plenty big enough even if she needed it now. She was house-trained more or less instantly using the crate, and slept in it until she was one. She loved it and used it as her safe place if we had visitors or anything she was unsure of.

We were lucky as she never really chewed anything, but if you can crate train and your puppy is shut in his crate when you're not there this shouldn't be an issue and he should grow out of it.

I know you are taking him for walks but do remember that they are bred to work all day!!! Mine would/will easily come for a 10 mile ride with me on the horse, I'd be trotting all the way so she is running fast. She'd then happily play fetch for the rest of the day!!! So do make doubly sure you are providing enough exercise. Mine isn't really getting enough at the moment, but she does have a 2 acre garden and a 12 acre field to entertain herself!!

They are lovely dogs so hope you do manage to work something out xx
