Ever since finding out i was pregnant, i've wanted to get my level 2 n 3 out of the way so i can set up my own hairdressing salon with a créche as i only know of 1 other salon that has 1, n all of my family who have kids n get their hair done complain about how hard it is to find someone 2 watch the kid(s) whilst they get their hair done n still have the money to pay the babysitter.

So i was thinking i can do best part of my theory online n at home n do all the tests n practical in a fast track grouping once bubs is born, then go on to do my management/supervisor level 3 so i'd be fully qualified to run my own salon, i already have a small number of clients eg. family, friends n friends of family, so i don't think it would be to hard to start it up (hopefully) the hard part would be saving the money to buy + furnish samewhere big enough to hold a hairdressing + beauty salon (my SIL is a qualified beautican) and enough space to have a little fenced off section for any kids to play in.
I have a couple of friends who are currently studying health n social care n child care so i'd talk to them about possibly working in that area, so that new clients know their kids are in qualified hands lol.

So i was wondering if any of you would actually go to a salon with a créche facility.

I've seen a salon with a child area before. My honest first impression was that it wasn't entirely professional appearing, but definitely convenient and let the hairdressers actually work instead of being stuck at home. I went there many times and there was always someone waiting in line. So I think people will go yeah =]

hey hun, im training as a hairdresser atm and your idea is really good! if you chose to go to college you can get free childcare for your baby, I decided that so i can do it mobile once baby is here i was going to finish my level 2 and wait a year then do level 3 or something like that. i took the 2 year level 2 course and luckily i have finished my first year now and i will have completed most of my 2nd year by the time of bubs arrival FXed. and then i will only have for e.g. 12 cuts to do before im qualified so i can just go in when and where s possible and do the cuts and pass them off. but you can do level 2 in one year, they've just started doing it in my college, but i can imagine it being really hard as it takes so long in passing everything in your first and 2nd year off. i would say if you could as most hairdressing courses are 2 and a half days a week. do the two year course otherwise it may get on top of you. also the theory is quite hard too, ive struggled through some parts of it, and my tutor said the colouring modual is going to be 10x harder, so just be careful you dont overload your self with too much hun xx
