Ovarian cysts?

I'm a little freaked out, feeling like a complete hypochondriac as well if i'm honest.

I've just found out today that I have an ovarian cyst? the nurse described it as slightly abnormal and on the larger side, she said anything over 4cm in diameter is considered large (the internet says 5cm).

She also said that cysts are very common, which i knew already.
it's going to take a while to get my doctors to refer me to a gynaecologist, and probably even longer to get that appointment through.

Basically, I just wondered if anyone has been through this before?
I guess i'm just being overly impatient.

My wife has had ovarian cysts. Not sure how big they were, but I do know she only found out about them because one exploded. She didn't have any damage from it, thank god, and has been perfectly normal (I hope, we are TTC and she is carrying) since then besides that one hospital visit. Good luck!
