hi everyone....

i went to my gyne last week and well no more clomid for me ive exceeded the limit with no luck so she said ivf but first they want to send me for ovarian drilling and to get my tubes tested at the same time this all sounds very painful and scary can anyone tell me what happens next. the gyne told me my bmi was 35 and needs to be 30 for ivf and me and my partner needs to quit smoking and as soon as i told him he gave up cold turkey im so proud i could bust but i still feel like im torturing him through this whole process, i know he loves me or he wouldnt do it but how much more can i ask of him?

im scared of the next stages and dont know what to do.

thanks girls :)

Hey :) I have PCOS and don't ovulate on my own. I too tried clomid - up to 300mg with no ovulation success. My OBGYN then sent me for ovarian drilling and to test the patency of my tubes. The procedure itself was not painful for me. Period pain is worse for me I found. I went back on clomid after it and ovulated 3 months in a row. In that time we found out hubby had low count and motility so we were referred on to IVF. Took us 2 stimulated cycles and a frozen transfer to get our successful pregnancy and miracle baby. Take it one step at a time. Took us 3 years in total to get pregnant. I am so thankful we had the option to do IVF. It is a hard, long emotional and physical road, but well worth it! Wishing you all the best. :hugs:

thankyou so much for your reply..ivf sounds very intense and tbh i dont know if im going to be emotionally ready :( but the ovarian drilling sounds very painful i cant go on clomid like you did after so i am just hoping it works naturally for me.... pcos dont run in my family so im quiet gutted that im the only one that has been/going through this alone. Im so happy for you that it all worked out in the end you must be very story and persistant. can you have any naturally after ivf? are you going for another one?

thanks again

Gina xx

I have heard ovarian drilling can help things naturally after. Are you on metformin for the pcos or an alternative to clomid, femara? I have one stubborn body so these didnt help me, but have for so many others.

I am a very strong willed person. Wasn't going to give up til we had a baby as hard as it all was. We can try naturally but it probably wont happen. We have booked in for another frozen transfer in march to try for another bub.
