Overseas without LO

How do you all feel about going overseas and not taking LO?

My friend and I are wanting to go over to Los Angeles for 10 days - including travel (which all up is 2 days roughly). But I feel so bad leaving LO behind - but on the other hand I really want to go and always have wanted to go to LA. Arggggggh. Decision, decisions.

What are your opinions on going overseas without LO?

I absolutely would not leave LO for 10 days, at most I might go for a week when he is much older but that is really pushing it. I'm guessing this isn't the response you were looking for but I really couldn't be away from him for that long and I don't think it would be fair on my LO to leave him for that long

I couldn't do it :/ but it all comes down to whether you're happy to or not!

If you've got someone to take care of LO for that long go for, I would. It will be a great break for you and recharge your batteries.

Personally I'd not do it. If you're comfortable with it and have someone to trust to look after LO then why not.

Haven't done it yet but have been discussing with my OH about going on a week long cruise. Not really a suitable holiday for Maria so thought it would be better if she had a little holiday with her dad at the same time. I imagine I'll miss her a lot but I know she'll be fine with her dad and she's been away from me for longer stretches of time than that before.

If your comfortable with leaving LO then why not You deserve some fun too

I have decided to take him with us (me and my Mum)... He will be one and half when we are planning to go - which I think is an okay age...

We are planning on going to LA and Memphis - to see Graceland because my Mum loves Elvis! Haha

Is anyone here from America or has travelled there before?
Do you know good places to stay in LA or Memphis? And other things to do there that will also suit babies...

Ooh great idea! I've been to America 5 times and am going again at Christmas! Isabella will be 14 months you'll have so much fun! Sorry don't know where to stay though, only been to LA once and that was about 4 years ago! X

Wow, you're so lucky, Ive always wanted to go to America! How long is the flight from where you are? For us total it's about 20 hours... I am so nervous - I hate planes lol!
I'd rather go with my Mum and Levi - that way I know I will get as much as I can out of the trip and will definitely remember it forever!

It takes about 10 as far as I can remember! But been to new zealand so its nothing really haha! I bet youll love it!! One thing i enjoyed was i went on a boat trip to watch the wales, dolphins and seals in california
