Ok advice needed all you wise women...

Background: I used to have a 21 day cycle and was regular as clockwork from day 1.

I met my husband and went on the pill for 4 years making my cycle 28 days long (wonderful stuff ).

I then came off the pill 5 months ago. The first 3 months I had 26 day cycles (fine, fair enough, I had such short ones to begin with, I expected it to go back to 21), all regular then last month it was 29 days (I think this was due to stress) and we'd been :sex: during my 6 days or so that I was meant to be ovulating each month.

I started using ovulation sticks 2 months ago and never really got a strong 'positive' when I was ovulating but something was showing and so we got on with it.

Then today I took my first POAS for this month's cycle and it was positive!! SO here I am, CD10 and with a positive ovulation stick...is this normal? I was expecting to ovulate around day 13/14..

Maybe all along I've been ovulating at around CD10 without knowing, hence the not so positive results in the previous months.

What do you all think?? Apologies for rambling, I'm just so confused.

If I am ovulating so early, is this a sign that the egg won't be 'good' as it's too early??

Hi MrsVenn. It's quite possible that you have caught the very beginning of your surge so you may not actually ovulate for another day or 2. The opks are a warning that O is approaching not a confirmation that it has been. Are you charting? If so you'll be able to get a good idea of when you actually o. Good luck, hope you catch that eggie. May I suggest you get off here and go to bed! teehee :happydance:

never used ovulation stick, but have small cycles like you. But definately don't ovulate around Day13-14 but before! The best is to have sex as aften as you can!
I got pregnant having sex between day 8 and 12 after my period!! so it 's possible! We are all different! Enjoy!!

The positive result indicates you will ovulate within a couple of days. So it could be that you don't ovulate until CD11/12. I don't think that's too early. It's better too early in your cycle than too late, unless you do have a very short cycle. If you ovulate early it means you can test earlier (CD24/5). Good luck!!

If your cycles have been 26 days, then you would quite probably ovulate on CD12. If you ovulate on CD12, your OPK should be positive around CD10-11. So, I would call that perfect actually! Get yourself some :sex: and catch that eggy! :)

I agree with the ladies, I got a +opk cd10 and I ovulated 2 days later, so get to your bedroom missy and get down and dirty! Fingers crossed you catch that eggy!xxx:hugs:

 I've been dying to read these responses all day..thanks girls! We did it twice yesterday just for good measure, lol.

So I guess it's now fingers crossed and getting in some practice :winkwink: before the end of the month..eek!

Can I just say that the above is music to my hubby's ears..oddly he's agreeing with "the best is to have sex as often as you can!" :haha:
