Ovulation question

I am wondering can you ovulate if you don't have your period??? if you don't have your period for 3 months can you ovulate each month but just not have your period??? My doc said there are people that have there period and don't ovulate and there are people that ovulate and don't have there period. is that true??? Does anyone know of a web site with info about this?? or have info on this??

Hi, didnt want to read and run. I've read many conflicting things about this. I'd go with what your doctor says.

I beleive that you can ovulate without having a period.....but I dont think you can do it regularly.

many who have periods without ovulation are having periods due to estrogen instead of progesterone (usually its because of a drop in progesterone)

I totally missed an AF and apparently OVULATED after I came home and finally figured out my chart I caught my positive on my OPK at last minute...But thats only because my "cycle" completely flipped and changed on me...went from 28 day cycle to 23-24 day cycles and totally missed an AF because of it but like I said I figured I may be ovulating and took the OPK and heres the results....I don't think it could happen 3 months in a row but you may be ovulating every other month or so without an AF.....goodluck and I'd get bloodwork if I were you from the doctors they can test you to see if your O'ing at all! Goodluck and I'd try OPK's just in case God bless and babydust and sticky glue to you!

I got off BC in September had a period then another in November then in January i didn't have one for 3 months so i went to the doc and they gave me progesterone pills to make me start my period which i started the end on May and it ended in June. And now i haven't had one sense. On august 6th i started taking OPK's I have taken them every day sense they are always negative.

I guess just get some OPK's thats really the only way or the blood test from the doctors! I didn't have an AF and I have positive so I guess everyone is totally different!
