Ovulation tests

Hi everyone, today i had my 21day bloods taken so i thought i would do a ovulatin test myself. I was thrilled to see a (not too faint but not a really dark) second line appear, but my heart sank when I saw that on the packet it said it was a negative.

Does that mean my O is on its way though or not? Its the first time ive had any type of reading on it so i'm not quite sure what it means...

I haven't had much luck with opks, but I'd say any line at all means to get to the bedroom. I think everyone's experience is different (whether they get a straight positive right off the bat or a gradual darkening of the test line). Keep testing and keep bding in my opinion. Good luck catching your o!

Is today the first day in a while you've done an opk? Maybe you caught it on the way down, but you could have also caught it on the way up - test again later or tomorrow! I get a really dark "almost positive", then a few hours later or the next morning, a clear positive. Good luck!

If you're talking about the LH strips, then any line at all does NOT mean a positive result. For a positive, the test line needs to be darker or the same as the control line.

I'm talking about simple strips, such as those purchased online. I'd add a link, but I can't yet.

For those with PCOS problems, the test line can be false positive all the time. Faint line means pretty much nothing, other than the fact that there is SOME LH present in the urine.

it was only slightly fainter than the control line. And it was the one bought online, they aren't the fancy ones! I have done other tests since then and the lines have been so faint i think i may have been imagining them. :S

Do you have long cycles?

I mean, your 21DC test is progesterone, and that's supposed to be taken 7 days AFTER ovulation. So at this point, you shouldn't be ovulating (unless your cycles are long, of course, in which case 21DC test was sort of pointless).

Once you see the right line, you'll know it's the right one. I was kind of mistaking them and imagining for a few days, too, but then it was really clear when the dark one appeared on days 13 and 14.

I have PCOS and my tests have always been Clearly NEGATIVE or POSATIVE..

If your struggling to determine weather its a neg or posi, maybe see you doctor?
without even taking a test i can just feel i am Ovulating, I feel different and i have more mucus that usual! take a test, and bam! I am!

Hello. I'm new to all this and it's all so confusing so could someone please tell me if this is all the norm. I been ttc since January and so far had no luck so thought I would buy an opk! I thought I would do one every day from the 1st I came of my period till the 1st day of my new period. Ok so I came off on Monday also ttc (practise makes perfect)then done a test tuesday which was negative (what I expected) done a test wed and got a smiley face!!! So thought I would keep testing like I originally said I would do but on Thursday, Friday sat was neg! We ttc on Friday too. This morning (Sunday) I done another test and got a smiley face! And yes we ttc wasn't going to let this window go! I'm confused when I ovulated tho. Is it poss to ovulate 2 days after your period then again 4 days later?????
