Hi ladies, well to begin I am very new to this and I need help!! Well my husband and I will be married for one year may 7 and we've been ttc since September so its been almost 8 months now and nothing. I'm twenty years old and healthy and so is my DH. Well I did not get a period for April i'm still waiting on my AF, shes 10 days late. So yesterday I went to my yearly pap appointment and of course my dr. had me take a preg. test and of course it was negative. So she put me on prenatal vitamins to get healthy for when I do finally get pregnant which gave me hope. I asked her what she thinks the problem could be and she told me to start charting and thats what i need help on I'm not sure where to begin or how. I always thought it was so much easier to get pregnant but i guess not. It fustrates me so bad that everyday I hear so and so's pregnant, as of now I cam count on two hands how many people I know who just got pregnant and it's so unfair because they aren't even trying (sorry I just needed to vent) So please if someone could give me a clue on where to start.

I know exactly how you feel, I'm 21 and me and my OH have been trying for around 6-7 months. It seems like everyones pregnant nowadays and you try so hard and nothing happens :(

About the charting, you'll need to get a BBT thermometer (one that measures temperature to 2 decimal places is good), which measures your basal body temperature. You need to take your temperature the same time every morning before you even get out of bed.
https://www.fertilityfriend.com/ is an excellent site to chart your temperatures so you can see the difference each day. I think once you've ovulated your temperature takes a dip, then rises and doesn't stop til AF arrives. This is the best way to pinpoint when you actually ovulate. Along with OPKs, they tell you when your having a LH (Luteinizing hormone, hormone that's released before ovulating) surge, when you get a positive on this, it normally means you're going to ovulate in the next 12-48 hours.

I hope this helps a bit and good luck :flower:

Sorry, don't know ANYTHING about charting (I just use OPK's) but didn't wanna read and run!! I know it involves taking your temp every morning so I would think about getting yourself a thermometer!!!

Good luck! xx

Caiti thanks that did help. So when my temp. takes a dip it means i'm about to ov? and fairykate is the OPK'S easy to follow? I was thinking of buying one the other day I just didnt how well it works and how?

I chart using FF and TCOYF.com (I prefer TCOYF). The best way to confirm ovulation is that your temp will rise and remain high for at least 3 days. :) At least, that's what I understand. My temps dip and rise through my cycle somewhat, but the ovulation was pretty clear when it rose and lingered up there on my last cycle.

I own a digital clearblue OPK and it's pretty standard. when I felt my cervix was high and soft and I had wet, eggwhite CM, I tested and confirmed my thoughts of being positive. I was TTA last cycle, this is my first TTC, but I'm planning on following the same routine this time around. We'll be on holiday, so hopefully I'll O on time again.

Good luck and if you have charting questions, please feel free to let me know!

okay I think I need help with the accronyms lol well i'm very very new to this so please explain to me what all this is. I want to be sure to do everything correct. My AF has not come yet and I'm ten days late so when should I start charting now or after AF comes whenever that is.

oh and another question is when I see that my temp has risen should I start doing the deed for those days that my temp stays constant?

I think the only problem with charting your temp is that by the time you see the change, you've already ovulated. I think temping is more helpful for getting to know your body and the changes it makes each month after you've been keeping track for a few months, then you should be able to see when you're going to ov before it happens. Does that make sense? I could be wrong too because I haven't been able to temp successfully. I use opks and love them. But I've heard others who don't like them too. I'd try it all and find what works best for you :)

Yeah, I find the OPK's easy to use. Mine are the 'One Step' ones that you can buy fairly cheaply on Amazon, but some people on here swear by other brands. Each to her own I guess

You do them in the afternoon (I do 2pm and 4pm) as the LH (hormone your ovaries produce as the egg is 'ripening' ready to be released) is produced in the morning and shows up in your urine in the afternoon. I start testing about one week after my period at the moment as I'm just starting to use them and am not exactly sure when I ovulate. Some people ovulate really early and others really late so if you're not sure, start early and keep testing through the month. Once you get a positive then ovulation happens 12-36hrs after, so you can get :sex:that evening!!

At least that's how I do it!!! :winkwink:

xxx

Okay sounds fairly easy thanks so much im deff. gonna buy one and I love the smileys getting busy lol so cute
