I just had my baby girl on the 10th of December. I already had in mind I would nurse her. She latched on good with very few problems. After the second day the nurse concerned me in telling me her weight was dropping and advised supplementing with formula... Bad idea. My baby preferred to nurse but became upset with nursing after getting the bottle! So now I pump and nurse when I can. She doesn't like the formula and still takes my milk. My question is does pumping reduce milk production? My milk supply has deplenished from being able to pump 8oz from each breast every feeding (I pump every time I feed her even if she doesn't nurse so I pump approximately every 2-3 hrs) to now barely getting 4 from both at one feeding! I try to nurse as much as possible now that I feel I am drying up but what am I doing wrong? How do I get my milk supply back? It's only Ben 2 weeks and I planned to bf at least for a year. And at this point I may have to supplement nasty formula to make sure she is full. She still wants to nurse... Is she getting enough with both?

Personally if she is now feeding fine I would just nurse her as and when she wants and don't worry about pumping. The more your baby feeds, the more your supply will settle to what she requires.

She prefers to nurse but gets aggravated farely quickly... I still have to bottle fees her after nursing just to make sure she is full because she begins to cry after a while

If she nurses well just keep putting her back boob. She's so young it's normal for them to want to feeda lot at that age. Just go with it and ditch the bottles. Just monitor her wet nappies
