P60 question...

Who issues these when you have left your employer?
I left work at the beginning of Aug last year after my MAT leave expired so where will my P60 come from:shrug:
Iv also moved since then too (end of Aug) so I'm worried its going to get lost somewhere!
My employer did know I had moved as my P45 came through to my new address!

My OH is also in the same position!
He got made redundant from one company in May and went to work for an agency but the employer He was working for no longer needed him (Temp to perm my @rse) so He got laid off there at the beginning of September.
The agency didn't change his address or send him a P45 before we moved even though we had told them we had:growlmad:

I don't know who to expect the P60's from or to ring to find out:wacko:

He's in employment now.

I had my Tax Credit renewal pack through the post the other day and need our P60's..

Hope that all made sense

Thanks:flower:

Good question, I need to know this too! :)

I think they should be sent to you from previous employer..

might be wrong though..

if you have left an employer your P45, which you get soon after leaving, is final. This summarises pay and tax from the previous April, ie start of the tax year to when you leave.

At the end of the tax year ie 5th April, you get a P60 from who ever is employing you at that time.

I enquired about this and any employers you have worked for during the year should send you a P60 at the end of the tax year (all companies have to issue them for anyone they have employed throughout the year).

If you left finished with the employer part way through the tax year they will not send you a p60 as you would have been sent a p45.
Whoever employs you at 5th April will issue a p60.

This is the correct answer.

In the absence of any other income post leaving a job, the figures on the P45 are what should be used, assuming it's not been given to a jobcentre who would be adjusting the pay for tax.

Yeah I rang my previous employer yesterday as It hapens and they said pretty much the same!
They also said as I wasn't paying tax I wouldn't be issued a P60 anyway?
I just basically needed it to see how much SMP I had recieved as my P45 obviously didn't have that information on but luckily I found my last wage slip anyway :)
Thanks all...
