Hey ladies, today I have been getting some discomfort quite low down in my tummy. It's hard to explain but it's like pulling and it hurts bit. It happens when I stretch or twist and my tummy hurts when I sneeze??!! Even when i am sitting my tummy generally feels strange. I am not gettin cramps but just this odd discomfort/pain. Should I be worried?? I have had a few early mc in the past so I get scared it might happen again xx

Hey girl. I have also been experiencing this.. It is actually round ligament pain! Google it.. all of your muscles and ligaments are loosening. That's why you have the spasming/sharp pains. Totally normal.. And actually a really great sign that your body is doing what it is supposed to!!

i may have had the same pains as you recently but they are random and i could do anything and they just wouldnt necessarily happen during those activities. my midwife did tell me that over the next month i will feel menstrual-like cramping and that would be caused by my uterus growing.

btw, yesterday, i had an extremely strange feeling i just knew was in my uterus. it felt like it was having spasms and something was moving/jumping in there. it was sooo weird to feel it! it wasnt painful at all though.

thanks ladies.....round ligament pain? i thought that was something that you got later on in pregnancy, my baby is only the size of an apple seed lol!!
Its weird, when i stretch my torso out my tummy just feels so tight.
Maybe thats how it should be feeling but i just worry about every twinge.
it great that u got to see a midwife so early, i dont think i see one until 10weeks... i really must phone my gp surgery to let them no i am pregnant so they can refer me!

thats what i thought about round ligament pain too. but my dr confirmed it! it can happen early for some women.

Wow, I'm so glad to have you ladies for support. How is ur pregnancy going? I'm getting more nauseous each day, mostly when I'm hungry xx

it's going well.. the nausea is exhausting. it started around 6 weeks and this week (almost 10th week) it has shifted to extreme hunger/nausea. ugh! hoping it subsides in the coming weeks!!

If it isn't round ligament pain, it will just be your uterus starting to stretch & prepare itself & you will likely get stretching/pulling pains like this throughout the whole pregnancy.

Woke up this morning and the pains have all gone, was only yesterday xx

The fact that your pains are coming and going is a really good sign. It's normal for that to happen. It's when the pain kicks in and doesn't go away that it might be an issue. And even then, it depends if it's accompanied by bleeding or spotting or not. Given that you are just having low-down pain while moving, it sounds like your ligaments stretching. I have *heaps* of pain down there because I have endometriosis on my ligaments! And throughout all my pelvis. So yes, much pain.

But it's normal for most women, endo or not, and it's a really good sign that your uterus is expanding to get ready for your littlest uteronaut to get bigger. :) <3

I just keep getting the type of sensation that AF was going to start, for the past week, and since I was due af tuesday it was a little unsettling. But I guessed it's just stretching and preparation for my uterus to be stretched to a million times it's normal size in the coming months! It just comes and goes, occasionally little pinches sometimes cramps similar to af type cramps but not as severe.

Thanks hun, pain is still there when i sneeze I have just discovered but i guess it's all part of the fun!! I need to try and accept that I am going to feels aches, stretches and pains, like u have all said, a lot is going on in there.
Can't wait for scan on Wednesday, will it be too soon to hear heartbeat?? Xx

So you will be over 6 weeks next wednesday? Yes I think you can see heartbeat by then. Are you having a private scan? I went and had a private scan when I was pregnant with my first daughter, went for a private one just to check I really was pregnant! (somehow just a line on a stick didn't seem enough evidence!) I was 6 weeks at this scan and saw a little heartbeat. Just a little blob but it was a little blob with a heartbeat none the less! And now my little blob with a heartbeat is a gorgeous 4 year old that's going to school, amazing really! (now getting all emotional - damn hormones!)

sally.. glad you are relaxing a bit!! i have really come to accept that cramping/stretching/pains are super normal! i'm 10 weeks and still have occasional AF like pains.. i will get all worked up thinking that she is going to arrive and then i realize it went away! its weird. but if you think about all the stretching and moving of organs, etc it all makes perfect sense!! hang in there mama!!

as for the scan.. i went in at 8 weeks (baby measured 7w2d) and i didn't hear a HB.. just saw one. i'm not sure if you can actually hear it that early. but you will definitely see a HB! let us know what it is! mine at 7w2d was 124 bpm. i guess at 8 weeks it jumps to 140-160. so much fun!!

Natnee - that is so fun about your daughter.. i can't wait to have all those feelings and milestones with my little bean!!

speaking of heartbeats.. i had a dream last night that i went to my dr because i wanted them to use the doppler so i could hear the heartbeat. (i've been thinking that i wish i had a doppler so i could listen anytime i wanted!!) i went into the clinic and they refused to use it on me because they thought i was lying about being pregnant. i was so upset. oh man.. the joys of hormones.. so many dreams!!!

hope you ladies are having a lovely day!!

I never thought about getting a doppler until I seen people on here talking about them. My problem would be that I would worry everytime i couldn't hear something so I don't think I will bother!!
I am having the scan done by the fertility specialist I was seeing for ivf, which I thought was good of them as this is a spontaneous pregnancy! If all is ok they are discharging me.
If it was up to me I would have a scan every month just so I could see baby lol!! Xx

i was actually happy today when I sneezed and got a sharp pain in my left side because in my first pregnancy with my DD it was the same but with my mc I never got any sharp pains, or pulling, like it never grew

xx
