Painful Periods (possibly TMI)

I am wondering how common it is to have very painful periods a 1yr+ after having a baby?

I stopped b/fing 7months ago and my periods are A LOT more painful than they ever were before i had Amelia, they are also a lot heavier.

Is this normal?

It is pain to the point where its making me feel physically sick, its manageable but nothing like i used to get.

Does have a c-section make a difference ?
