Hello,

I am doing a bit of forward planning and was wondering if there were any part time primary teachers out there?

How easy was it for you to go back part time?
Was your happy for you to go part time?
Were you able to or did you have to look for another job?
What is it like sharing a class?
Does it work for you?

Currently a year 2 teacher, hoping to TTC in May and just looking for an idea of my future!

Sorry this doesn't apply to me but my friend was a primary school teacher before falling pregnant and she now does supply teaching one day a week at different schools (Her LO is 9 months old) and she loves it, so that's an option for you too.

Can you not discuss it with the school? xx

I am a part-time (3 full days) secondary school teacher.

My 2 LOs go to nursery monday to wednesday.

I see it as the best of both, 3 days work, 4 days with your children. Its a good balance with young children and I wouldnt change it.

I was full time, requested a 3 day week, and it was fine. I am now permanent 3 days, not just on reduced hours. Been 3 days per week now since I returned to work after my first child, almost 3 years ago now.

I am not interested in full time at all.

I do not have to share my class, but will soon as we are merging with another school.

If you can afford to go part-time I would recommend it!!!
