I failed my 1 hour and had to come back for my three hour today.
First blood draw went fine, but drinking the liquid made me so nauseated I thought I was going to hurl all over the floor. But I managed to hold it in - I was DETERMINED to not throw up and invalidate the test.
Second blood draw went fine, except the nurse was in a hurry and I bled a lot.
Third draw was horrible - she poked and missed, and then dug around in there for a while trying to hit the vein. She pulled it out and poked again, missed again, and had to dig some more. Finally she said she had to try the other arm, which only had an hour since the last poke. However she got that arm on the first try.
Fourth draw was okay but both my arms were so sore from both multiple pokes and from having band aids ripped off that it hurt quite a lot more than normal.
Then while we were waiting for the final results, the nurse came in and announced that I needed a tetanus shot as well. So I had to have a total of 7 pokes and my arms hurt like crazy. But I passed with flying colors!!
I figured I would pass, since I only failed the 1 hour test by three points.
I'm just glad it's over!!
