:hugs:Hi ladies, as the title really, Need to get LO a passport and my husband needs his renewed anyway so he was going to get his photo done , thought maybe I could do Ilara's also. Has anyone attempted this and do you just need the baby's face at the right height ect or the whole body? I know it seems like a stupid question!!

I got this from babycentre:

Does my baby need a passport?

Yes, your baby will need a child passport in order to travel abroad. The passport will be valid for five years. Your local post office has the application forms you need, and the passport should take about three or four weeks to come through.

When you apply, you will need to provide the completed forms and the following:

• Two identical photos. One of which is signed by a professional.
• Documents to prove your baby is British, such as his birth certificate.
• Payment of £46.00.

The photos will need to be of your baby against an off-white, cream or light grey plain background. This is so his features are distinguishable.

It is possible to take your baby's passport photo in a booth but it's not easy. He has to be on his own in the picture so you have to support him at the right height without any part of your body appearing.

You can get a digital photo you've taken at home converted into a passport photo, providing it meets all the requirements. The website Paspic will check that the photo is acceptable before creating the passport pictures for you.

Alternatively you can go to a high-street photographer. Here your baby will be placed on a white sheet or beanbag for his big moment.

The Identity and Passport Service website has more information.

Thanks a lot xxx:hugs:

uve already got the info u need from the above comment. pretty good advice id say.

we are having to get zane a passport, but i no he wont sit in a booth to take the picture.
altho in the form it will give u a idea of what the right photo should look like which is of the face, facing forward and not the body.
im going to try and take zanes picture at home against a white wall

we just got grace's passport photos done. i just got them done at max speilmans though. no way i could have done it myself in a photobooth. it was £4.99 for 8 photos

Yes I went to one of those photo shops, not sure if max speilman but same sort of thing, my son was 5 months old and they laid him on the floor on some flat pillows, they check it meets all the regulations and you get to look on the screen to see if you like before they print it out, was well worth the fiver or so

I went to my local photographer and asked him to do it. He led him on the floor and was very picky on the photo as he said their strict! If you do take your lo to a booth you cant be in the photo, not a hand or anything so might be a bit tricky? It only cost £7 quid for mine and was worth it for the convenience.

I just took Anna into a standard photo booth.

We held her up (under her dress so that our hands were not shown!) and the pics were great!

Passport came through in 2 weeks!

I sat daisy in her bumbo in front of her cot with a White sheet draped over to create the White background and it worked really well. Just sent off for the passport size print online. I think it's so daft how strict they are, babies aren't exactly security threats! Besides, by the time we go away in oct she will look totally different!

I sat Niamh in her buggy with a white sheet behind her.

u can just take your own pics with a digital camra and take the memory card to asda photo center and get passport size pics

Thanks everyone!! This I will just get someone to do it we havent got loads and loads of time so I dont want the hassle of getting it wrong (which I probably would!) hope it get it through soon after I send it off, might do that checking service thing! xx
