FOB hasnt paid maintence since about june last year, he lost his job in the july/august and has been on jsa since then but hasnt paid a penny.

Do they have to pay whilst claiming benefits? And if so, will he be made to backpay from last june the money he hasnt paid ( even though hes been on jsa? )

x

I'm not sure about back pay. But yeah, £5 a week if they're on JSA. Pretty crap, but better than nothing I guess..

Were you claiming through CSA since June 2011 or was it a private agreement? I think only CSA can force him to pay and they will backdate it [a friend of mines ex just got in contact and after 6 months of denying it was his he has to pay £300 a month backdated by 6 months!]. As for JSA... you are entitled to... wait for it... it is amazing... £5 a week.

Hope that helps :hugs:

I don't claim csa but I have heard it's £5 a week on jsa. What a joke :nope:

Nope ive never claimed through the csa before, so if i were to go through csa do i just tell them that he stopped his payments in june?? And will he be made to backpay from then when hes got a job even though hes on jsa at the moment? xx

Yep, its £5 a week! Absolutely ludicrous! :hugs: Its all messed up. My FOB has been at Uni for three years, and not paid a penny, which would be fair enough if he wasnt working as part of his course AND doing some cash in hand jobs. Grrrrr

I know the feeling! FOB does cash in hand jobs whilst claiming jsa!! Why can these 'fathers' not just have the respect and deceny to think of the child and not the other parent?? They will never pay a penny unless they have no choice!

Then you can contact CSA and they will kick up one major fuss. He will be made to back pay it... as I said with my friend... he has lost sooooo much through having to back pay £300 for 6 months... regardless of his arguments that he had a mortgage, other children, a new family, a car etc etc etc... they don't like people who bullshit.

If they are on JSA and they have the child over night they don't have to pay anything, not even the £5 a week. That's the situation I'm in at the minute. Absolutely ridiculous x

Now that is a joke!!!!

Certainly is. FOB got made redundant, and I spoke to CSA and they said he doesn't have to pay a penny out of his JSA because he has Leo over night. Also, he got a 3 grand redundancy pay and I didn't see a penny of that either! But he's turning up at my house in new jeans and trainers etc...(FOB is not Leo.) I had to buy Leo's school uniform and shoes and FOB didn't help...yet he bought himself a new pair of trainers xx

This is what makes me so angry. I get FOB's can have their own life etc but spending money on themselves rather than contributing to their child whilst maintaining equal rights is pathetic. It makes me so angry.

Are you serious? Even though i send her down there with clean clothes ect, and he dont provide her with nothing but food that his mum buys for the house?

Ridiculous !! hes agreed to pay now though, but he has her overnight so should i tell him to leave it?

Is he paying it straight to you rather than through the CSA?? If you're doing it privately I wouldn't say anything hun, just let him pay it! I know what you mean though, because Leo goes to his dad's and he doesn't have to pay for anything because he lives with his mum and she buys the food and cooks. He has clothes there for him and he's toilet trained so there's nothing else to pay for! xx

Straight to me,i didnt think he'd agree to but he text me today saying he would start paying! But yeah, i send clean clothes down their for her for the day after, literally all he gives her is the food whilst shes there!

Its a bloody joke the way it all works!! I just cant understand why dads dont just want to pay for their children off their own backs :(
