I was Diagnosed in 2008 so you'd think I'd know everything about it by now. But I was just thinking to myself.

Even though I have irregular periods...the periods I do have doesnt necessarily mean i've ovulated does it?

And if I don't ovulate isit possible that I MIGHT ovulate the odd cycle?

I have doctors on Friday as I've recently had bloods done to see if I ovulate and I have a hospital appointment on the 17th of Jan for some reason which I will find out why on Friday!

Just wondering,

Thanks :hugs:

Hi There! I was diagnosed PCOS in February and was put on Metformin.

After being diagnosed, I only learned that if and when you do get your period, it doesn't necessarily mean you've ovulated.

I ovulated on my own but not ALL the time. I probably ovulated 3 to 4 times in a year on my own.

Hope that helps.

True that if/when you get your period, it doesn't mean you ovulated because the egg was never released and then it turns into a cyst.

You can try charting your temperature daily and use OPK to monitor your ovulation. Different methods work for different women. Like myself, I've charted but out of 8 cycles, I only had 1 graph that showed that I ovulation on my own.

Good luck in trying! :)
