are any of you as scared and worried as me about getting :bfp: and then miscarriage. i know we are more prone to it, and i know when i get my :bfp: thats all i will be thinking of for the whole first half of pregnancy!!!
anyone else????

Yes I am very worried indeed, doesn't help that I have already suffered a M.C - Whether that was down to my PCOS I don't know but it certainly has put some fear in me.

I'm on Metformin, I stopped it about a year ago but recently gone back on it and my doctor told me that it has been known to lower miscarriage percentages, but we will see.

im on metformin, and am a little concerned about taking it while TTC because in the leaflet that came with it it says dont take if TTC. :S Odd!!

Completely terrified, I had a mc and it was awful, I don't want to ever go through that again.
The fs told me that taking metformin for the first three months of the pregnancy does seriously decrease the risk of mc.
My god mother has pcos and she has five boys and never had a mc, so it doesn't necessarily follow that you will have a mc if you have pcos.
Gl ladies

I am terrified!
I have had one MC long time ago and now with PCOS I am convinced all I will think about is MCing for first 6 months, let alone 3.
My mum had 5 and she was always a wreck after them, its horrible
xx

I have that fear too. I know that Metformin decreases the miscarriage risk for women with PCOS. I would talk to you doctor about any other things you can do to prevent a miscarriage before you get your BFP. I'm going to see my GYN next week and I'll post any other tips she may give.

yeah, im ging to fertility doc friday and will ask, but i feel i may become obsessed with worrying. and take the whole fun out of pregnancy!!!

I worry but I have done my research and I am hopeful metformin will reduce miscarriage risk. I know many women who have PCOS and have carried to term and had perfectly healthy babies. I will not let PCOS scare me any more. I will take charge of my body and not let it define my TTC journey.

I am on metformin and was told to come off it by my FS when i fell pregnant. The pregnancy ended in mmc, but who is to know why that was. No two Dr's that I have spoken to have had the same opinion of metformin and whether you should stay on it or not. There are no official medical reports to prove that it lowers the risks and this is why they don't all have the same advice to give us. Not much help really. I don't know whether I would carry on taking it next time, or whether I will follow the advice of my FS again. I will be seeing him in a few weeks so will talk to him about this.

In answer to OP, i think we have to stay as positive as we can about our pregnancy, and whilst I will be cautious due to having had a mc already, I will try and enjoy every minute of any pregnancy that I have for as long as it does last.

Good luck xx
