For ladies with pcos and insulin resistence.. and if your dr. put you on metformin how long did it take to help get your cycles back in order and ovulate?

And is there any ladies out there who don't get their af at all or ovulate at all on their own and metformin helped?

Thanks!:flower:

Hiya, I was on metformin for 6 months and it helped my skin a lot. Cycles were still very long, but at least I was getting AF-previously I could go on for a year without one! After 6 months, I was given clomid because I was not ovulating and that's how we conceived. I took metformin until I was 12 weeks pregnant.
All in all, it did help me a lot. Good luck with your TTC journey Hun x

It never made mine come back, I had to get provera to start them, twice. It kept them coming every month for a while and then when I stopped for a bit, they still continued coming. Honestly, I couldn't tell you if I have been ovulating this whole time I've been on it (been on it for years) I never temp'd, I just assumed I did because really I didn't know that you couldn't, guess I don't pay attention to information, that and I always have EWCM. I did use OPKs for like 2 months last year but never got a positive or at least what I thought was a positive. We stopped because it was kind of freaking my husband out. This last cycle, after our mc, we really tried, over tried really and did get a positive opk this time using it. We failed but are going back to not temping and no OPKs this cycle. I just don't know if I always ovulate and my gyno doesn't seem to care enough to look into it. I guess if I bothered her about it but I would think they'd suggest something.

My periods started coming regularly (33-35 day cycles) after two months on met. My cycles use to be up to three months long.
