Hello ladies

I am back after a few months break. I've been trying to get everything sorted out and now back to start trying again. I hope you don't mind me popping in for advice.

Basically my last period was 20th August 2013 and after seeing a consultant back in June 2013 he wanted me to have a blood test to find out why I was miscarrying after the blood test I was found to have poly cystic ovarian syndrome. After waiting 3 months for my doctor to do anything I was given an appointment to see another consultant at my local maternity unit.
I seen him last Tuesday 26th November and he said that my ovulation levels were on the low side but in the normal ranges which was a big relief so he put me on 500mg metformin once a day to start with and now on thursday on day 9 of taking it I had a bit of blood is like a really light period/spotting , Is this the start of my period and my body getting ready to conceive or just my body playing tricks on me.

PCOS is the most common cause of infertility, so you are not alone. I also have it, was diagnosed 12 years ago and it's a battle. I am so sorry for your losses, but with help you will get your rainbow baby!

The symptoms you are describing could be a number of things, but it could be the beginning of a period, or it could just be sorting things out. It sounds like you are overdue for a period if your last one was Aug 20th. That is a common problem with us PCOSers. Give yourself a few months to adjust to it, I think my RE said it can take up to 3 months for your body to adjust to the medication, he wanted me to wait that long before pursuing clomid or anything else. I'm currently on 1500mg of metformin because when I was diagnosed with PCOS I was also diagnosed with the insulin resistance that can come along with it. Good luck to you!!
