PCOS Suspected, When should I see a doctor?

My husband (21 yrs old) and I (23 yrs old) have been TTC since late May, now on our 5th cycle with no luck. It should be 6th, but my cycles are all over the place. The shortest one in the last 16 months was 29 days, and the longest was 50.

I've been charting my BBT and CM but am not sure if I'm even ovulating! I've been reading articles about PCOS and don't want to be a "cyberchondriac", but when should I seek help/get a doctor's opinion?

I'd seek help now, it won't do any harm Your GP should be able to do a simple hormone test & then refer you to a fertility specialist for further testing (to see whether you're ovulating, make sure your tubes aren't blocked etc).

I waited 6 months of no periods to see my GP, but they'd have tested earlier if I'd thought to ask, I'm sure! xx

Thank you! I'll talk to my husband and maybe set up an appointment. It took my parents 6 years of trying before they got pregnant (they ended up having 8 kids, without any kind of intervention), and my older sister and brother in law are currently looking into fertility treatments...maybe it's a family thing...?
How long have you been trying?

This is my 3rd month this time around, although when I was diagnosed with pcos, I'd been trying 8mths. I ended up going back on the pill to regulate my hormones and didn't dare come off it until recently! I see it this way, at least once the tests are done, if there are any probs then you know what you're dealing with xx
