See if you girls can shed some light. I used to be on the pil before Getting pregnant with my son. I was never good at it, and forget to take it a lot and nothing ever happened. I've been on the pill again since about October. Last month I forgot one, and got my period the next day. It was my last week of the pill so I didn't think much of it..although the bleeding went on for 11 days (until I started the new pack). This time around on the pill, my period seems to last about 4 days, it's over before I finish the pack.
2 days ago I missed a pill. Only realised yesterday. Lo and behold my period is here, but I have like 2 weeks left of the pack! Surely I won't bleed for 3 weeks, right??
Is it normal to start a period straight after missin one pill? It never happened before. And it all started after one month that instead of a proper withdrawal bleeding I only had brown spotting for 3 days. It seems like my hormones are all over the place

Hiya,

i believe what you are experiencing is breakthrough bleeding and not the actual period/withdrawal bleed. When your hormone levels drop ( missing a pill) you might spot or have light bleeding but then this stops once you take a pill again. Your period/withdrawal bleed happens in your pill free week and usually stops once you start retaking the pill gain. I have been told you can take your pill with a vit c tablet as it helps the pill absorb better. Look up breakthrough bleeding on the pill... this will give you a better idea of whats happening and why. Any bleeding you have whilst taking the active pills is breakthrough bleeding which is totally different to your period/withdrawal bleed, hope this was helpful!

That's the thing, it hasn't stopped and same thing happened last cycle. It's heavy like a period and it hurts like one too (last month was the same).

It used to never happened before...

It may not stop until you take your next break.thats what happened to me. Once your body has enough of the hormones it should stop. If not.. It may carry on until your next break. Take a full 7 days break. It will get heavier. After that you will find it stops.
