Hi Guys..

I'm new to this board & hope to be welcomed by you all & also hope to be able to give my advice & recieve some back.

Firstly i'll start by explaining my Symtoms.

Only being 18 years of age having had painful periods for several months
including blood clots, heavy periods, unbearable pain e.c.t I went to my gp
& asked to see someone about why I was in this much pain.

My GP sent me to the hospitel to see a GYNAE, I was scaired, nervous didn't
know what to exspect but I needed to get through it.
I wrote everything down & handed it to the GYNAE who was lovely.

She explained she'd do an internal examination to see if she could see what was the problem, she explained I had a very health CERVIX & then she done another examination (can't remember the name) then after all the examinations were over the GYNAE explained that I have a condition PCOS
never heard of it before so she explain more, saying that my EGGS pop at the wrong time which is causing me all this pain and discomfort & also the blood clots. She said I wouldn't have any problems concieving in the FUTURE.

I was advised to take the PILL so it could sort out my problem & have a 28 day cycle.

Now on my 3rd packet of the MICROGYN PILL my periods are a little lighter I have them for the same amount of days ( 5 days ) & I do get period pain but noway near as much as before also the blood clotting has stopped.

Could anyone advise me of when I can stop taking the pill & try for a baby.
I'm exspecting to get all of the "your to young for a baby" conversation but
i'm in a long - term stable relationship and we feel were ready.

Anyones advice would be greatly appreciated & please don't judge me on my decisions.

Thanks.

x

Hey hun, I was on the micrgyn pill and came off it because i wanted my natural cycles to come, But they didnt, so i went to the doctor and i also went to the hospital to have a internal scan, and like you i was so nervous but it wasnt to bad! lol... i got diagnosed with pcos, i went home and cryed my eyes out, im only 20 and in a long term relationship, and we have decided not to go on the pill and just let nature do its job! if it happens it happens.

Ive been off my pill now for nearly a year and have only had one period which lasted 4 weeks! and its drivin me insane! I would advise you to come off the pill now and let your natural cycles come, coz it might take a while.

Hope this helps a little bit... x

Hey,

Sorry to hear you disapointment with your periods e.c.t

The GYNAE I saw was the one who advised me to take the pill but i'm going to finish my 3rd packet & then see what happens with my periods.

My periods wern't very irregular before i started on the pill they came every 5 weeks but I had one every time for the same amount of time.

Good-luck to you

xx

hi hun!

Did you tell the dr you were wanting a baby? They may need to do ovulation tests.

People with PCOS can get pregnant but it can take a little longer.

I's speak to your GP or gynae dr if you are going back. You need more info!
good luck

Hi,
I have pcos and i found out 4 years ago! I was 18 at the time, and in a stable relationship. The research i have done suggests that taking the pill only masks the symptoms of pcos and dosn't improve them.
Also i have read that some doctors say if you come off the pill to concive you shouldnt wait for your periods to come in first! I havnt tried it myself.
Its hard work ive had 3 m/c's in the last 4years and have only just started to get help, i think because of my age i get over looked but iv known since i was a little girl i wanted to be a mum.
I believe it will happen but having the m/cs has tarnished the dream a little for me. It takes a long time if your not having periods your not ovulating so it depends on how badly you have the pcos i was told i dnt have it badly but i think there wrong.
I would suggest reading lots of books trying to eat healthy and i have found reflexology helpful.
Good luck x:hugs:

Hi,

I didn't tell the GYNAE or my GP as I didn't want them to judge my decision.

The whole thing is just so confusing & so difficult.

I did buy a couple of ovulation tests to try out, so once i've finished this pill
packet i'll try those.

Thanks.

xx
