Hi ladies (and maybe gentleman)

long story cut short...

aged 24/ been in love 5 1/2 years/ married 15months/ TTC 4 years/ diog with PCOS aged 14/ 5ft 4in/ 13st 11lbs/ BMI 33.1

Right... so last sept i went to the gyno to get a straight answer no more if buts or maybes i needed to know and support from these people who are supposed to do this as a there job...

basically they told me my BMI needed to be less than 30 (i know this not just because i want to be a mummy but because iv always been bigger and fed up now) great im thinking a goal to aim for... at this point i weighed 14st 6lbs a year later iv lost a little but no where near as much as i would have liked - im now weighing 13st 11lbs making my BMI 33.1.

is anyone else finding it very hard to loose the weight???

iv tried them all

Slimming World - i lost a stone before my wedding but didnt seem to want to do anymore...

Weight Watchers - hated it - didnt understand it - the consultant was shocking!

cambridge - lost 1st when me and hubz first got together but soon put it back on :(

Exante - most recent getting me to 13st 11lbs but it was groce lost 9lbs in 6 weeks

Slim fast - is in the fridge ready to be startd tomorrow.

has anyone else been/currently in the same weight situation that needs to loose the few extra lbs to continue on the heart wreching journey to motherhood? if so what diet did you find that worked/is working??

gone past heart ache and boarding desperation point

much love to all you beautys xXx

Hi, have you tried a low gi diet? It's meant to be great for pcos! There are lots of good books around. You basically cut out the bad carbs so you can have rice but swap white for brown etc. the complex carbohydrates are harder for your body to break down so you don't store as much fat! You also eat healthy lean proteins and balance your meals between good carbs/ protein and veg. Have you been tested for glucose intolerance which is common with pcos?

Plus exercise is great too even if it's just a walk! I'm super lazy so I know how hard it is :-) I need to start dieting again I got to my ideal weight for my wedding just over 3 months ago but I've put about 10 pounds back on :-(

The ONLY thing that has helped me lose weight with my PCOS is high protein/low carb/no sugar diet. No refined sugars, no bad carbs, lean meats. I lost 40lbs in 3 months with eating right and just doing 30 minutes of cardio a day.

I was going to say exactly what the other posters said. The best bet is to address the reason you have a harder time than others shifting weight. You likely have glucose intolerance as part of your PCOS. So if you do a low GI diet - avoid sugars/carbs you should lose more weight. :)
