Hi all. Just looking for some advice. My Lo had a PDA whilst in the NICU due to an infection. She was discharged and a follow up apt made to check it. At the apt (when she was 3 ½ months) the Doctor said he could not hear a murmur and sent her for an echo which confirmed it had closed. We were delighted and left not giving it another thought...until last week. Erin had her consultant check up (shes now 9 months) and as he checked her over he listened to her chest and said the PDA was there. We went for an echo today which has confirmed its re-opened but is small. Basically I was wondering what this means (doctors as vague as ever). She has no problems breathing, isnt oxygen dependent but is small and struggles to put on weight which ive heard can be connected. Ive done the worst thing and began google-ing it and now totally confused over catheter procedure/surgery/drugs etc Can anyone help? Thanks.
