People who hate/don't use johnsons products..

Our Dr. recommended for our cold climate we switch away from Johnsons so for moisturizer we are now using Aveeno and its doing a good job.

For wipes and diapers we use Huggies. I've tried other diapers but for us the Huggies snug and dry have worked the best.

For shampoo and diaper bag wipes we are using a Safeway brand called Mom to Mom which you I assume don't have in the UK.

:coffee:

You know Aveeno is a Johnsons product..right?

....I didn't realize. Well its working a treat anyway so that is our moisturizer of choice for now. I think our Dr. was specifically suggesting we avoid the pink Johnson lotion for dry cold climate.

I love Aveeno Baby, works great for us:thumbup: People aways comment on how nice LO's skin is. I use their shampoo, bath wash and moisturizer. We use Pampers wipes and Honey Dust for powder.

I just don't use products with paraben in it.

This is what I use:

I LOVE Live Clean products for my newborn, toddler and myself. Like you I don't use products with Parabens, but I also stay away from Phthalates which Live Clean products don't contain either! :happydance:

Wow I never even knew alot of these alternative products existed! x

We use halo n horns and burt bees. I use those for shampoo, bubble bath and body wash!

We don't use talc, and as LO has eczema (well hasn't so much since we stopped using johnsons) we use prescribed oilatum in her bath and the cream as moisturiser for her skin x

We use pampers sensitive wipes and Burt's Bees shampoo and body wash and body lotion and diaper rash cream.
I love Burt's Bees, most of their products are 100% natural or close to it!

They are natural! But they still caused my LO's skin to dry out.

We now use Oilatum and Aveno for the bath and moisturiser and Halos and Horns wash.

I use Lush's trichomania shampoo, Lush's Honey I washed the kids soap, and Lush's ickle baby botts bath bombs. Wipes I use Waitrose organic baby wipes when I am out and water and cotton wool in the house.

My eldest is allergic to so much stuff, Lush despite its strong smells does not affect him so we just stick with it for all the children.

wipes - supermarkets own (usually asda)
halo's n horns body and hair wash - smells fab.
i use johnson's intensive moisturising cream for after bath and its not near as drying as their normal baby lotion.

Sorry to sound ignorant but what's wrong with talcum powder? I use it nearly every time I change LO, as assumed it'd make her more comfortable after a cold wet baby wipe! Am I doing wrong?! Thanks x

I think it's unnecessary, and it used to contain asbestos!

Here's a link with the most up-to-date info. I wouldn't worry about using it, I just don't really like it.

We had bought the entire range of Johnsons products before my daughter was born, and only after she was born did I hear that they tested on animals. I'm not in the position to not use the products we have, because I can't afford to just go out and buy a whole load of other things, so am using what we have, because I've paid for it, but after finishing one thing, we've switched to other brands...

Shampoo - Halos N Horns. This was actually recommended by the midwives here; they say it's the brand that is gentlest to skin that we can buy here

Wipes - Morrisons own brand, sensitive. I think these are fantastic for the money.

Body wash - I don't use body wash, I use shampoo on her body LOL. But I use Femfresh on her bits because it's pH balanced so won't dry her out. Femfresh is marketed at women for use in their "intimate areas", but I figure since it's not perfumed or harsh to the skin, it's okay for her to use.

Talcum powder - don't use talc that much, but if I do we still have the Johnsons one. But Mothercare do a liquid talc

Moisturiser - We use Johnsons while I have it, but am looking around for other brands at the mo because it's almost run out

I use pampers sensitive wipes which I love, plain water to wash but Johnsons baby shampoo.

I can understand not using Johnsons due to an allergy to it or if you try it and don't like it but why would you refuse to use Johnsons products?

Is there something I don't know about along the lines of Nestle and baby milk or something?

I try to avoid any products with SLS, SLES, parabens and parfum. Some people also don't like Johnsons because of their animal testing. :)

So those that don't use talc do you use anything in it's place or nothing? Thanks xx

Blimey i wasnt expecting this many replies! thanks girls!

some of you asked why i hate Johnsons products.. for me personally its the amount of chemicals they use & the fact they test on animals.

xx

We use little me organics bubble bath (when needed) also the same range lavender body moisturiser. Thats it really, dont use talc, shampoo or anything else. As for baby wipes, we use Simple.

dont use any body wash, just water
dentinox for shampoo, yes its for cradle cap but it can be an everyday one too
e45 for moisturiser, literally LOVE the stuff
dont use talcon powder and use any wipes as they dont bother LOs bum at all :)

Taken from the Johnsons website as I was curious to look into things before I began buying all the toiletries in preparation!!!

Q: Are JOHNSON'S® NATURAL® products tested on animals?Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. does not test products on animals.

They also state that they use only sustainable Palm Oil, and also their new Natural range seems to also be much more allergen friendly.

we use little me organics or halos and horns.

re usable wipes with just water

dont use talc and use e45 for dry skin

I hate Johnsons!

We use Gaia here. Bum cream, bath wash and moisturizer.
